Where does your DH/DP shop for clothes?

DH has decided he wants a wardrobe revamp but where to go? He jokingly says he wants to return to looking like 'catalogue man' but also says he wants to look dapper.
He used to shop a lot in Selfridges, Fenwick, Nicole Farhi but since having DD we'd rather not waste money on ourselves.
When in Spain/Portugal he loves El Cortes Ingles - good quality, reasonably priced.

Looking for inspiration, so please tell me your DH/DP's favourite clothes shops.

sagacious · 23/01/2009 19:54

Paul Smith
Designers at Debenhams (esp the John Rocha diffusion range)

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 23/01/2009 20:11

Paul Smith for suits, funky and smart shirts
Gap for jeans, basic merino jumpers
Banana Republic for t-shirts
Fat Face for shorts
Abercrombie for weekend clothes
Smart shoes from Church's
Casual shoes from Timberland

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 23/01/2009 20:12

oh and Thomas Pink for work shirts

SpangleMaker · 23/01/2009 20:42

DH loves Ted Baker. Bit pricey but he picked up some bargains in the sales (did better than me!)

FeelingLucky · 24/01/2009 12:40

Anyone else want to reveal secrets of their DH/DP's wardrobe?

Paul Smith in the sale.
White Stuff does really really nice men's shirts and some good jumpers and has good menswear sales, Uniqlo very good for t-shirts and shirts, Gap for cords and basics.

mrsmaidamess · 24/01/2009 13:33

He eventually shops for clothes when I tell him in no uncertain terms he looks like a scruffy git and I won't be seen dead with him.

And then...its Gap sale or Uniqlo. He will not enter any other shop.

TartanPussyCat · 24/01/2009 13:34

Paul Smith
Charles Tyrrwhit (?sp?)
and sometimes

Boden

gap, levi shop, tk maxx (they do john smedley jumpers sometimes)

mrsseanbean · 24/01/2009 13:40

Ditto TartanPussyCat. Also some 'Blue Harbour' from M&S.

mrsmaidamess · 24/01/2009 13:41

Oh yeah, I forgot TK Maxx.

Although he was set to try on some very suspect 'jeans' in there the other day until I intervened and bitch slapped him.

Ronaldinhio · 24/01/2009 13:42

zara, paul smith, gap, tk maxx, ted baker, g star, diesel

FeelingLucky · 24/01/2009 14:08

Feeling lucky, I'm not sure, but it sounded good.

And no, my dh knows nothing about labels. He buys variations on the same style of clothes from the same shop each time.

I couldn't bear it if he was a clothes ponce.

brimfull · 24/01/2009 14:12

matalan

Buda · 24/01/2009 14:16

M&S - he hates shopping and has no interest in clothes and is almost 50 and an accountant. Where else would he shop?

I have bought him a few shirts from Boden.

FeelingLucky · 24/01/2009 14:18

Riven, that;s the problem neither DH or I know anything about clothes and where to buy them. But as DH is a freelancer he needs to look less tramp-like in order to keep the work coming in.

Also, we both hate traipsing around shops, so anything that could be ordered online would suit us.

I'm off to google "bitch slap" now

ohdearwhatamess · 24/01/2009 14:20

Austin Reed
Fat Face
White Stuff
Timberland
Gap (although not recently, I don't think)
Snow & Rock and similar places
Boden

Also picks up odd things when overseas.

He is no style guru though (apologies dh if you are reading this ). He buys in bulk and spends a small fortiune, but only does so once in a while.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 24/01/2009 14:21

The yorkshire clothing company for moleskins and waterproofs.

Asda for work shorts.

Cotton traders for polo necks.

I am in the process of smartening him up and he is getting a pair of Fat face shorts for his birthday.

FeelingLucky · 24/01/2009 14:22

Bitch slap means to slap someone across face in humiliating way - often in front of an audience Poor mrmaidamess
There's also a film coming out called Bitch Slapped soon.
