shield you eyes

It's knitted and printed (classic Boden crime). It's "sassy". And I think the yellow is particularly heinous.

OP posts:

The red one. Looks hideous on personless photo but click on More Images and it looks slightly better?

Tinker · 15/01/2009 23:46

Yes, I was using an alter ego a few days ago when posting about eldest (only because she'll be searching on here soon ) and I rather liked my other name but felt disloyal to this one.

Scum · 15/01/2009 23:48

It looks nice on the model, doesn't it? Will suit you I think. Good shade of red.

Tinker · 15/01/2009 23:51

Can always return it... I do love a red dress though

Scum · 15/01/2009 23:51

Will go and try and work out who you were! Is lovely eldest ok?

Tinker · 15/01/2009 23:54

Oh she's fine - will send message to explain

Scum · 15/01/2009 23:55

Yes- sorry re hijack too.

thumbwitch · 15/01/2009 23:56

I can't believe I had to actually go and look for that as the link didn't work - really wasn't worth it, either, glad I don't have a headache! Ech, can't imagine why anyone would buy them....

Tinker · 16/01/2009 00:33
Scum · 16/01/2009 00:35

Not to worry mon ami- I'm off to bed now. Speak soon.

Tinker · 16/01/2009 00:36

Me too.

RinkyDinkyPinky · 16/01/2009 09:23

Oh No! I really like the navy and brown version of the dress in OP.

Is it that bad? I agree that the other colours are unforgiveable. Feel like I need a major style overhaul.

All suggestions for decent, good quality stuff for SAHM with 2 little ones and still a bit of a belly after recently having DD2 are welcome...

Lemontart · 16/01/2009 09:32

Goat loved your Josie Jump comment.

Tinker · 16/01/2009 18:24

Can go back to sneering at Toast now. Have just received a wet little email telling me they can't supply that dress now because:

"We do work very hard to acquire as much stock as is needed so that all of our customers will receive their orders, but sometimes last-minute events do conspire against us."

What last-minute events?????? Someone forgot to put the 'Sold out' sign on?

tiggerlovestobounce · 16/01/2009 18:27

I'm not impressed with Boden this season. I bought loads from the A/W stuff, but I havent seen anything I want to buy in the current catalogue.

Tinker · 16/01/2009 18:29

MrsSimm have you got your dress? Did you order teh last 12 before me?? Did you? Did you?

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 17/01/2009 03:10

not guilty Tinker . Altho they now have an extra size 8 in stock..........

mrsseanbean · 17/01/2009 10:33

I received an email from Toast too telling me the Sofia dress was sold out

On the plus side, this does mean I now have more to spend on notebooks, hats and bizarre outfits for ds - (see here)

moondog · 17/01/2009 10:51

Very funny you lot.
Goaty, you are on form.

I am concerned however of seismic shift to Toast. Don't ladies, just don't.

Arguably, flogging American dustbowl depression/Japaneses WW2 detention camp stylee meal sacks dresses to 40 somethings is a worse crime than the odd hotchpotch/artisanal/flippy eight piece seersucker ensemble so beloved by JB.

They are each as bad as t'other.

SheherazadetheGoat · 17/01/2009 11:02

high fives moondog for her 'grapes of wrath chic' comments.

Lauriefairycake · 17/01/2009 11:18

I like the first dress in pink and when it hits the sales cos you feckers don't like it I'll be first in line

tattycoram · 17/01/2009 12:03

Every time I log onto Mumsnet, I see that awful advert with the woman in the most unflattering dress and think - yup, game's up, Johnny really has lost it.

I like the migration to Toast, their stuff is really good quality iirc (it's a long time since I've bought anything there) and much more interesting than Boden.

higgle · 17/01/2009 16:07

I just want to live in the Toast catalogue and be that pale interesting lady in the library, the models look so enigmatic.

tattycoram · 17/01/2009 16:35

I know. They look sooo clever.

mrsseanbean · 17/01/2009 18:09

Yes. You cannot wear Toast with any real integrity unless you live on near a wild, windswept moor.
