Ok, firstly, I'm on a huge budget so it definitely needs to be under £50 and quite honestly, the cheaper the better, it isn't going to get a lot of wear.

Secondly, I'm a size 18 sometimes heading to a 20. Huge of nork and with chunky thighs (paint a lovely picture don't i?!)I also hate my upper arms so some coverage would be nice.

Thirdly, I'd quite like it to be slightly quirky (not tie dye and flounces though you understand!) as I don't want to be a carbon copy of everybody else.

Is this impossible? I've searched the other threads and couldn't find what I wanted. Had a look at the more obvious websites too. You are my last hope, if not then I may have to go in a bin bag accessorised with a sparkly belt.

Ooo, i'd love to do the dress and leggings look. Think I could probably carry it off at Christmas!

twinset - it doesn't have to be any particular length, it's not a ball gown type do. I think I'm just conscious of my chubby thighs

Do you have a tk maxx near you? Ours have THE most fabulous dresses in at the moment, some from as little as £20.

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoulo · 03/11/2008 20:26

How had I forgotten TKMaxx? Yes, there's one a few miles from here. Right, will have to go and check that out tomorrow too!

This ones only £30 and nice in the kingfisher colour, bhs dress

Nbg · 03/11/2008 20:28

And and and, I have seen some black leggings somewhere with a very tiny bit of glitter in. They would be fab for a christmas do.

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoulo · 03/11/2008 20:30

Thank you samsonara, there are so many gorgeous dresses here!
NBG - glittery leggings? I need a pair! I'll be the most festive gal at the do

quite short but I imagine people will not look at anything but your cleavage, could be worn with think tights. Dress comes in two colours

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoul · 03/11/2008 20:35

Wow twinset! That is low cut! I may very possibly have someones eye out It is very pretty though, DH would like it!

twinsetandpearls · 03/11/2008 20:36

again could be worn with tights or leggings

twinsetandpearls · 03/11/2008 20:36

lol Edwatdcullen my dps eyes lit up when I saw that.

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoul · 03/11/2008 20:37

Another nice one, I'm spoilt for choice! I love the tuli[p skirt. Had forgotten about asos as well. Glad I posted!

Slouchy · 03/11/2008 20:38

Problem with TKMaxx is that sizes in posh frocks can be very small, I find. I am a 12-14 and went looking in my local one the other day to be confronted with lots of 8s, 10s,and some 6s. The single 14 I tried on was teeny! (designer sizing i guess).

But you may be luckier than me...

twinsetandpearls · 03/11/2008 20:38

again to be worn with tights/ leggings but not sure if it will just hang from your impressive boobs

Slouchy · 03/11/2008 20:39

What sprt of do is it? Black tie/pub meal wit a club after?gis us a clue

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoul · 03/11/2008 20:39

Oh god, no way! I could maybe sew two size 10's together to make a 20?!

Nbg · 03/11/2008 20:39

I think its Next, Topshop and Primark that have them.

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoul · 03/11/2008 20:42

twinset, I love that, just as quirky as I like. But, I fear that yes, it would just make me look like Mama Cass
Slouchy, it's a glorified Christmas party at a hotel. Meal, drinks and disco type of thing. Problem is all my friends are dressing up. I don't go out that much (get out the violins!) so have no party wear. The rest of them seem to have an endless selection

twinsetandpearls · 03/11/2008 20:45

red lace !!

Greatfun · 03/11/2008 20:46

I have just ordered this. Might be good for you too.

twinsetandpearls · 03/11/2008 20:47

apparantly the catsuit is the new party dress

Slouchy · 03/11/2008 20:47

How about this? You could jazz it up with some bright opaque tights - jade or teal would be nice - and it is classic enough to get a lot of wear in the future. I've tried it on and its kind to norks!

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoul · 03/11/2008 20:47

Now I shouldn't like that, but i do!
Dh loves your style of thinking twinset

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoul · 03/11/2008 20:48

Ooo, slouchy, that's pretty! I like the idea of jazzy tights too. How could I disguise the bingo wings though?
Why is christmas party time so stressful?!

Nbg · 03/11/2008 20:48

Oh I love that catsuit.
That is very very nice.

Would look very sexy with some gorgeous heels.
