YeahBut · 28/10/2008 20:06

Get her the pink wellies. You might hate pink, but you don't have to wear them. She's 3 and she's allowed to like pink!

compo · 28/10/2008 20:07

yes sorry agree with everyone else, her feet, her wellies, your ishoos!

Romy7 · 28/10/2008 20:08

pink. you may as well give up now or you're going to find the next few years really rough

Marne · 28/10/2008 20:08

I know I know, but the next pair I won't be aBLE TO GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING BUT PINK, i HAVE ACCEPTED THAT (oops) but I think I'll get away with my choice just one last time, and the yellow ones will match the red and yellow bike she's getting for her birthday too!

Pink, my DD is 3 and would want the pink too.

DeJaVousdoo · 28/10/2008 20:15

Resist the pink tyranny as long as you can You'll be surrounded by it's vileness more than soon enough.

The yellow ones are far nicer anyway.

That said, maybe you could offer a choice between the yellow and the red? Might that help?

beansmum · 28/10/2008 20:21

Get the pink ones you big meanie!

mabanana · 28/10/2008 20:21

If you want yellow wellies for yourself then buy them. If your dd wants pink ones, let her have them. THe pink wellies will make her happy, the yellow wellies will make her sad.

aGalChangedHerName · 28/10/2008 20:22

Get her pink fgs. It's only a pair of wellies!!

Hulababy · 28/10/2008 20:23

Let her have the pink ones. More likely to wear them with no fuss too if she chooses them. If she can't choose pink at 3, then when can she? Buying her a colour she really doen't want may lead to more hassle inthe long run.

MinkyBorage · 28/10/2008 20:24

she has the red ones atm but need the next size up, actually they are two sizes too small, but we can still manage to squeeze them on, I went to the shop to get some more and didn't like them so decided she could wait until I could get the lovely yellow ones off t'internet. lovely aren't I?!
I hear you though dejavousdoos, I am dreading the pink tyranny, I know it's coming. I am finding it harder and harder to field the utter shite which somehow comes in to our home and used to find it's way to a charity shop before anyone really noticed it

Oh please get her the pink ones!

DD1 loved patent leather shoes with clacky heels when she was little; I hated them so I never got them, although she would occasionally ask, hopefully.

It was all about me, & the guilt is with me still

rosealbie · 28/10/2008 20:27

I can't believe you would pay that for wellies but they do look as nice as wellies can I guess

pointygravedogger · 28/10/2008 20:28

get her the pink ones. She'll be wearing them, not you. She is an individual

mabanana · 28/10/2008 20:29

My dd loved pink SPARKLY wellies. THink yourself lucky!

ohIdoliketobebesidethe · 28/10/2008 20:29

If you give in now she will think you're fab.

Shells · 28/10/2008 21:51

I can hear what everyone is saying - but its your money, your family, the way YOU want to do things. If you don't like pink (neither do I) then don't do it.

We do a tiny bit of pink for DD and she copes. (I do lots of other feminine stuff - flowers, sparkles etc.). In the same way I don't buy army stuff for DS because I hate what it stands for. And you know - he moans - but he doesn't hate me. They are little kids FFS.
