Views on wrap dresses?

Know they were very fashionable a while ago - are they still?

Eyeing up a black Boden wrap dress on ebay - could be a bargain but will I look 3 years past my sell by date?

No no no completely out of date.

Tunics with gladiator sandals/with leggings and ballet flats/with tights/tight sweater/chunky boots are NOW.

Fimbo · 01/09/2008 09:43

Only if you are size 8

pushchair · 01/09/2008 09:44

Know wrap dresses are supposed to conceal blobstomach but my is still there And if they are true wrap I find that they are constantly flapping open at split. never know how to stop them riding up tights cos cant wear a slip under split ones. Big fan

NomDePlume · 01/09/2008 09:44

They are def not 'very fashionable' at the mo, but does that really matter ?

Buy clothes that suit your shape, not stuff that is hyper fashionable.

Dogsby · 01/09/2008 09:45

ah now
i have a opinion
always WAS the worng shape then foudn on i like
ihave paired with HUGE feck off patent leather belt
even women in shop said ooh yes, had never htought of that combo
so now its relaly jsut a straigh dress.

Legoleia · 01/09/2008 09:45

I think they're good! And I wear a slip with mine if I have DS with me (he's good at super-speed flashery)

Lizzylou · 01/09/2008 09:45

They may be a pit passe, but they really flatter my figure (tunics can make me look very top heavy).
I say wear what you like, what suits you and what you feel comfortable in.
Depending on price etc, get the dress (if you like it) and keep it fresh with trendy accessories.

pushchair · 01/09/2008 09:45

Where can I buy cotton leggings finishing just beow knee?

NomDePlume · 01/09/2008 09:45

leggings/footless tights are still 'in' are they ? Thought they'd had their day some time ago

traceybath · 01/09/2008 09:46

i've got this in black

and its lovely - similar look to a wrap but not a wrap dress.

i do think they're a little dated but still like them

DomesticBlobess · 01/09/2008 09:48

Ta for advice

I am a 12 but bit pear shaped - does any one have the Boden jersey type - does it cling to every bump?

OP posts:
Dogsby · 01/09/2008 09:48

i often fidn them too flared.

NomDePlume · 01/09/2008 09:50

I've got the Boden woolly one in damson. Tis nice. Had to go a size down though, It was a bit shapeless in the size I normally buy

Dogsby · 01/09/2008 09:50

yes a 20 can be

traceybath · 01/09/2008 09:50

Have ordered boden jersey in past and it is a bit clingy.

The knitted dress i got is lined so not clingy and quite slim fitting.

Also not too long in regular length as i'm short.

pushchair · 01/09/2008 09:53

Thank you dogsby sorry to hijack a bit thats why I cant find any no h&m near me.

Anna8888 · 01/09/2008 09:54

"leggings/footless tights are still 'in' are they ? Thought they'd had their day some time ago"

No - leggings are everywhere this season. But not on their own - with the tunic.

Lizzylou · 01/09/2008 09:57

If you are wearing a tunic and leggings, what do you wear on your feet?
Gladiators are a no no as I live in North West England and shoe boots are too high/fugly for me
