Dd is being a posh georgian girl (circa 1731) in the carnival next week. I was going to make her something but have not had time and as I am back at work it is not going to happen. I need to buy something.

I have some long gloves, an underskirt and pantaloons.
We do have an empire line dress although it need some form of underdress and it is not right for the era.

Here are some examples of clothes from the time,

here

Here are options to buy
option 1option2
option 3 without the crown
option 4 without the hat perhaps
option 5
option6 but this is expensive
option 7
option 8
option 9

OPtion 4.

Good luck next week say hi to the tA's from Sophie

Purplepillow · 31/08/2008 18:44

I think option 4 even with the hat looks about the best, although not sure about the colour

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 18:45

Will do I am in tomorrow for INSET

Option 4, though I think the hat 'makes' it.
Thgough I suspect you will have to buy whichever one she is likely to wear after the event as dress up clothes etc..

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 18:48

I was wondering about the hat just now.

The likelihood of her wearing it again are quite rare, she is in her goth phase! although she is a member of the local museum historical group so she may use it again for another event.

what do you mean by the colour purplepillow? Why are you grinning at me?

OP posts:
brimfull · 31/08/2008 18:50

option 4
or if it was me I'd buy the cheapest

BloodySmartarse · 31/08/2008 18:50

opt 4 or 9 maybe.

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 18:55

4 is qute a hit cheaper than 9.

MommyHasaHeadache · 31/08/2008 19:02

Like 4 the best - with the hat

myalias · 31/08/2008 19:04

Option 3 looks like Marjorie Dawes daughter

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 19:23

pmsl mylias, she does.

OP posts:
PortAndLemon · 31/08/2008 19:26

4 or 6. Which means 4 if 6 is expensive...

savoycabbage · 31/08/2008 19:28

Yes. $ but with the hat or it just looks like Disney Princess Bell's dress.

KatyMac · 31/08/2008 19:30

How old is she?

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 19:31

I really like 6 it look the least like a Disney dress to me but dp would flip if I spent that much. But I may be motivated by the fact that dd will never wear pink anymore and this may be my last chance to see her in pink.

4 is my second choice.

If anyone sees anything better let me know

OP posts:
KatyMac · 31/08/2008 19:33

I may have something

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 19:35

Go on reveal KatyMac she says excitedly.

We are clearly not fans of the early Georgian period, the internet is full of tudor, edwardian and victorian but nothing from the time I need.

OP posts:
Majeika · 31/08/2008 19:35

number 4 definitely - with the hat

KatyMac · 31/08/2008 19:36

How old is she?

IllegallyBrunette · 31/08/2008 19:37

They normally have dresses similar to number 6 on ebay.

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 19:38

She is a few weeks of 7.

I looked in ebay and gave up.

OP posts:
KatyMac · 31/08/2008 19:40

OK

It's age 8
It's very pink/barbie

Would you like a photo

KatyMac · 31/08/2008 19:40

Or I have a white cotton underskirt with spaghetti straps - knee length

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 19:44

A photo would be good although she may turn her nose up at the pink. She is not impressed by 6 for that reason.

[email protected]

I have got her a white cotton underskirt and pantaloons already from ebay to add some bulk to whatever she wears.
