Dd is being a posh georgian girl (circa 1731) in the carnival next week. I was going to make her something but have not had time and as I am back at work it is not going to happen. I need to buy something.

I have some long gloves, an underskirt and pantaloons.
We do have an empire line dress although it need some form of underdress and it is not right for the era.

Here are some examples of clothes from the time,

here

Here are options to buy
option 1option2
option 3 without the crown
option 4 without the hat perhaps
option 5
option6 but this is expensive
option 7
option 8

Option 7 is the most authentic!

KatyMac · 31/08/2008 19:56

It's very barbie (& on my profile) & not on reflection terrible suitable....but it's free to borrow

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 20:06

We have that dress Katymac, it must be in an unpacked case, it is one of the few remnants from dd pink phase.

Shinypinkshoes, why is it the most authentic. As it is a historical society authenticity is important

Oh I see now Katymas, I don;t need a regency dress but have one as it may be the closest we get.

The empire dress isn't really 1830's which is a shame

Never mind - I misremembered the dress as nicer

twinsetandpearls · 31/08/2008 20:17

It is a cute dress it is the barbie nutcracker one, dd had it last year for a party.

Yes rhe regency it Jane Austen which munsnetters informed me last week is quite a bit later.

Thanks though Katymac.
