Does anyone else NOT get "touche Eclat" by YSL???

Here's the rub.....I have always had one of these in my make up bag (at least for the past 10 years) but the other day whilst putting it on I thought to myself "why am I bothering" it really makesa blind bit of difference to my shadows under my eyes.....I don't think I have ever thought "wow" when putting this on, and have obviously been sucked in, duped, conned, stupid when reading about how this is a "must have product" "Iconic beauty product" blah blah....

Therfore, can anyone recommend a great under eye concealer that actually works? Or is it just me??!!

TIA

No, you're right, it isn't any good for under eye concealing and it makes me cross that it is marketed as such.

I use it, not on my monumental eye shadows but on the outer corner of my eyes, shadows around nostrils, number 11's in betwen my eyebrows (I sound like quite the catch, don't I?)

It doesn't have enough pigment to cover shadows ,as you have discovered!
I think prescriptives concealers are great. loads of clours, great coversge and last for ages.

I love Touche for other reasons, not its concealing.

Get thee to Benefit & try the Erase Paste - 'tis great.

macherie · 28/07/2008 09:04

Bobbi Brown Eye Brightener is so much better than TE. It comes in a range of colours so you get a good match and really makes a difference to under eye shadows. Mine are often dark purple, and with this I can leave the house without frightening small children!

Dozymare · 28/07/2008 09:10

thank you ladies!!! So maidamess, do you use TE more for highlighting?! Love the thought of calling my wrinkles between eyes number 11's - really made me chuckle!!!

I use Maybeline mousse concealer, it's very thick and gives excellent coverage. I used to use touche eclat but it's not really very good, is it?

noddyholder · 28/07/2008 09:17

Never use concealor at all Looks like a panda when I see it.

Gobbledigook · 28/07/2008 09:57

I've never bought it but don't really have darkness under my eyes anyway.

Good to hear it's not all it's cracked up to be because I was thinking I should have one (just because everyone raves!).

electra · 28/07/2008 10:02

I completely agree, OP - I think touche Eclat is rubbish, truly as someone who has always had the problem of dark circles (since a child...)

electra · 28/07/2008 10:04

By the way, the best thing that works for me is using an eye cream with antioxidant in, getting enough sleep and drinking a lot of water.

sagacious · 28/07/2008 10:06

I use erase paste as already mentioned. Though not on a hot day as it melts (not a good look)

Slubberdegullion · 28/07/2008 10:31

You are all completely mad.

"And on the 7th Day God rested...

but while he was resting he noticed that poor old Eve was looking rather knackered, poor thing, so he made YSL Touche Eclat. He saw that it was good and then he put his feet up"

It says so in my bible.

maidamess · 28/07/2008 10:33

Yes I use it to brighten the shadowy bits on my face. Actually the way I look most mornings I should just trowel it on. But I find it useful just to perk up my make up if I'm going out.

swedishmum · 28/07/2008 10:34

I have a little Benefit Realness of Concealness pack I keep in my bag, and I love Boiing (shade 2) for my dark circles - it's the best I've found for my skin when I'm wearing tinted moisturiser.

ranting · 28/07/2008 10:37

The boots one is much better imo, although I have never used a better mascara than the YSL one. It is fab.

maidamess · 28/07/2008 10:39

Yes I think the no 7 one has more coverage. Still not enough for my purples though....

ranting · 28/07/2008 10:43

You really shouldn't of said that, my mental image of you as a glamour puss has dissolved and I now imagine that you look like duputy dog M

JRocks · 28/07/2008 10:53

I prefer erase paste or Boiing too, anything else isn't really beefy enough for the job

GrapeJelly · 28/07/2008 15:13

Shows what good/expensive marketing campaigns can do....Tesco also do a very good concealer

WinkyWinkola · 28/07/2008 15:15

And that 8 hour cream. It's just slimy gunk to me. I don't like it at all. I just come out in the biggest plooks after using it. May as well have smeared goose fat on my face.

GrapeJelly · 28/07/2008 15:16

Yep, WW. It's just smelly expensive vaseline.

girlsallaround · 28/07/2008 15:19

i have found all the YSL makeup products a load of junk

cheesesarnie · 28/07/2008 15:20

really i fancied bit of 8 hour cream.i like te ,doesnt work that well but makes me feel special

PinkPussyCat · 28/07/2008 15:24

Cheessarnie, it STINKS don't buy it!

sandy4 · 28/07/2008 15:25

love it & YSL false lash effect mascara... mind you i've also been known to use those wierd pads you put on the bottom of your feet over night to detox. am a sucker for all that shit.

IorekByrnison · 28/07/2008 15:32

Find the No7 version better (and much cheaper obviously)
