Does anyone with big boobs wear...

Idobelieveinfairies · 08/07/2008 12:59

I just don't think there is an-underwired bra for me out there.

Have tried various sizes from bravissimo but the wires are too big!..thy go too far round my back and there are spaces not filled with boob! Have tried going down a cup size but then the middle front bit doesn't touch between my boobs.

have read on a problem website that some ladies boobs aren't quite right for wired bras...so was wondering if anyone has tried bravissimo's soft cup bras? are they supportive enough???

thanks

Definitely get measured if you haven't been before, but have you considered that your back size may be too big rather than the cup size? (Although the actual size of the cup is related to back size)

Idobelieveinfairies · 08/07/2008 13:08

We have no bravissimo here...live on an island .

it's the actual curve of the wire that is too big...from under your arm to the middle of boobs...and if i go a cup size smaller there is not enough material too stop a 3rd and 4th boob happening..lol

don't need a smaller back size as this one (36) is level all the way round, dose;t ride up or move, that is very comfortable..it's the wires that are horrible.

Perhaps i just have funny shaped boobs

they also look a bit going to westerly and easterly if you know what i mean??

I'm wearing the soft cup bravissimo bra's at the moment (post-op, went from 30G to 30DD) and they are fine - v. supportive (not that new boobs really need support)

Sounds like it's too big round the back.

Do your straps dig in to your shoulders?

piratecat · 08/07/2008 13:12

prima donna

Goddess

names that come to mind.

Idobelieveinfairies · 08/07/2008 13:12

no...they are fine on the shoulders..have checked the whole fitting advice thing....and the bra looks fine under clothes, just these wires are definatley to far round the back.

sounds like it is too big around your back, even though it is not riding up etc.

I have just been to bravissimo - went in a 36D and came out a 32E.

Before I went I wouldn't have said that the 36 was too big, as not riding up etc, but I was having the same issues as you - underwires just plain uncomfortable, when they had never been pre-children (just finished feeding dd2, so have been wearing nursing bras for what seems like years)

Is it possible at all to get to a bravissimo? They have video tutorials on their website now as well...

Idobelieveinfairies · 08/07/2008 13:17

what do you mean by your wide boobs ruby??

i feel mine are narrow..but then get wider..iykwim???

droopy is probably the word ...but lots of kiddies will do that eh!

well its the style of the bra then?

styling affects where the wire might sit.

i think tbh the cup is too big for you in this particular bra.

if you are wearing a 36g, did you try the 36ff?

soemtimes people think the next size down is a 34g, but it's not. that would be a whole size down in the cup AND back.

theinsider · 08/07/2008 13:18

Idobeleiveinfairies I'm afraid I have no answer for your original question, but I have a similar problem with the easterly/westerly thing. Just noticed it fairly recently in some photos from a year ago (pre-preg). Now I've had the baby and trying to slim, so wondering if the problem is caused by il-fitting bras, or whether it's more of a style thing (style of bra I mean). I remember once being told that full-cup, balconette etc styles produce a different-shaped nork but I'm afraid I don't remember the answer.

I shall be lurking with interest.

Mumsnetters please help Idobeleiveinfairies and theinsider to have full-frontal action

Idobelieveinfairies · 08/07/2008 13:20

really silverfrog that is interesting to know that you didn't think your bra back was too big either.

...might be coming to shop in southampton...but not til october. will ahve to wait then...

thanks everyone for your ideas

look for a full cup with about 3 sections in its cup, not just those ones that have the seam going right across the nipple, across the whole cup.

Some times a balconette style, if you can get, is much more flattering, or a half cup. I know that sounds weird, but some bigger bras' are made in these different styles too. Much much better shape and will stop the east west thing.
