Does anyone with big boobs wear...

I just don't think there is an-underwired bra for me out there.

Have tried various sizes from bravissimo but the wires are too big!..thy go too far round my back and there are spaces not filled with boob! Have tried going down a cup size but then the middle front bit doesn't touch between my boobs.

have read on a problem website that some ladies boobs aren't quite right for wired bras...so was wondering if anyone has tried bravissimo's soft cup bras? are they supportive enough???

thanks

I had this problem, was then measured and came in at a 30J whereas before I was wearing 36FF. I buy freya bras now as they release the same shape bras in loads of different colours/designs.
Good luck

Idobelieveinfairies - I really htought that, if anyhting, the 36 was too small, but could not see how it could be - I've put on weight since having the dds, but not that much...

Was a 32D pre-children, and no problems etc. Got pregnant, put on some weight, ribcabe expanded etc, and was measured for maternity/nursing bras as a 34D/E with dd1.

Time passed, got pregnant with dd2, and was measured as a 36DD. Didn't think it was impossible, and as I've always worn underwired bras, thought that any discomfort was due to general pregnancy/feeding changes or due to wearing soft bras which 've never got on with.

Finished feeding dd2 a few weeks ago, and started wearing my underwire bras again, and was soooo uncomfortable. The wires were digging in, and the whole bra seemed far too small. I couldn't really see how I was any bigger than a 36,as have recently lost a bit of weight, so marched off to bravissimo to sort it out once and for all.

Turns out I am still a 32, but gone up a single cup size only in 5 years and 2 children. No wonder i was uncomfortable.

It is really worth going in to the shop - had a lovely girl fit me, and I was a bit tricky, so took a little while, but we got there, and the difference is amazing.

If the wires are going too far around your back then I would definitely say that the back size is too big - I would make a date for October if I were you!

fantasy are great mid priced bras, and last ages. Most of mine are 3yrs old.

i have tried the panache harmony one in 2 sizes (definately liked the shape of boobs inthis one)o got the 36 hh, but wires too far round, so ordered a 36 h..but 3rd and 4th boobs started to appear after a few hours..and the wires were in the same place.

also tried the full cup fanatasise....east-west thing going on..but feels more secure.

right i think i will go for a 34j in the panache then...votes please..lol

Phone Bravissimo - they are really good at "fitting" you over the phone if you explain what's going on woth the ones you have to try. I ordered a batch a week ago and there were various things not right with them, and they were able to diagnose over the phone and suggest various shapes of bra that might be better - for example, panache are more u-shaped wires whereas fantasie are more c-shaped-on-its-side, iyswim.

Just got a new batch today and they fit!

I have that wires-going-round-to-the-side thing with Panache, but not with Fantasie. They're all a bit different - it needs perseverance.

Phone them...

nappymadmummy · 08/07/2008 14:05

Definitely second the opinion that you should phone them for fitting advice.

Also I went into a Bravissimo shop to be fitted and the lady who fitted me helped me find the right shape bra as well as the right size. Some of the bras in Bravissimo I can't wear at all as they just don't fit my boobs. I found the Freya ones best. It's definitely worth giving them a ring as they may suggest a different style/shape of bra as well as a size iyswim.

theinsider · 08/07/2008 14:08

Thanks all for the tips. I'll be trying some different styles of bra. I just hate bra-shopping, all that on-off on-off on-off. And then the decent ones for us with norkage are so expensive.

Piffle · 08/07/2008 14:13

if front middle does not meet between boobs you need lowe back size
i measure 32 but take a 30 to get that fit there
try the fantasie cally tis fabulous and do get fitted john lewis are excellent and stock lots of big sizes
I'm a 30hh but wear a 30h in the cally. Freya generally fit a little smaller

YeahBut · 08/07/2008 15:12

Really sounds as though you have not got the sizing right. If Bravissimo is too far away, do you have a Marks and Spencer near you? Their bra fitting service is usually OK and then you'll have a guide for ordering from Bravissimo.
