We’re going to an organised night at a very swanky club in the US

bearing in mind I haven’t been into a club in about 25 years, I’m 51, slim, tall, have cowboy boots, won’t wear heels

what the hell am I going to wear

(temp will be about 20 degrees)

God knows! Have they got any social media you can look at?

JudyP · 28/10/2026 21:18

Can you look at the clubs social media to see what the ‘norm’ is for nights at this venue?? As pretty sure it depends on style of club - if it’s a club for the wealthier type then v different to the more grungy type student club. I’m assuming it’s not a student club but you know what I mean!

I’ll take a look and come back

I’d probably go for the camo one OP 😂

DeftGoldHedgehog · Yesterday 15:41

I'm 51 and wore this with gold cowboy boots to go out dancing.

Anyway dress and boots would be just the ticket I reckon. What colour are your boots?

princesspadam · Yesterday 20:45

Tan boots which are difficult to
match up with winter wear currently in the shops

That Reiss dress is lovely but sadly out of stock

Based on OP's photos, I was going to advise "Be pale-skinned" 🤨 but this is obviously more useful!

SeanMean · Yesterday 20:58

I would wear this.

I would wear this.

That's nice.

I found these images for Hakkasan Las Vegas. I think some are guests, though others could be 'bottle girls'. Anyway, the prevailing theme appears to be tight. With your boots, a bit of volume would look better - the shorts above would work!

Despite their endless repetition of 'upscale', most of the women appear to be dressed by Boohoo and Pretty Little Thing. I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you're showing some cleavage and/or leg.

Without blowing my own trumpet I have great legs, they are slim & long and I can wear shorts or short dresses

i agree some of the pics of women look trashy

You’re not coming across great by calling other women ‘trashy’.

aquashiv · Today 08:13

I tend to dress for comfort: clean trainers, loose trousers, and a sparkly top. If it’s cooler, I wear a dress. I’m in my late 50s, and I just love dancing—I’m not there to look cool. It looks quite relaxed.

5128gap · Today 08:23

From the pictures it looks like times stood still, so the sort of thing you wore in your late 20s adapted a little. I'd wear a short dress off the shoulder but with sleeves, skin tone tights and the boots.

XiCi · Today 08:49

Why the cowboy boots? Hard to tell without a photo but I cant imagine they would go with any of the type of dresses you're looking at. Also not sure why you are also looking at knee high boots if your legs are your best feature. You should be emphasising them not covering them up. Also knee high boots will get horribly sweaty if you're dancing all night. Id definitely be going for a mini dress or possibly a jumpsuit
