Such a versatile piece that will take you from the school run to Waitrose to lunch with the girls to post-work drinks. A future timeless classic, I feel sure.

Beautiful. I'd have to wear mine over my trousers to show them off. They're Prada, you know.

Likert · 27/10/2026 13:19

Ideal outfit for when you want to combine the "sexy Maggie Thatcher on safari" look with the "helping Dave unblock the upstairs u-bend again" trend.

Fabulous.

I can't think of a better way to spend £500 of my actual money.

Thanks, OP

Plenty of room for a pad for those inconvenient leaks, plus a spare in the pocket.
I'm sold, one in each colour please. One on and one in the wash, as DM used to say.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 27/10/2026 13:24

OMG, have just seen the gloves. Dead useful for those obstinate blockages in the facilities.

EmailsaysOOO · 27/10/2026 13:28

I'm going to get one for every day of the week. Won't be able to eat for several months but at least I'll achieve my ambition of being a cool style icon when I'm out and about. That's what life's all about

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 27/10/2026 13:30

Wear those in the coming winter and you'll be a very cool verging on bloody freezing style icon.

MissBattleaxe · 27/10/2026 13:36

Ruthietuthie · 27/10/2026 13:07

I am glad they paired them with the washing up gloves in the last couple of photographs as that's exactly how I was thinking of styling them.

yeah, and a broken apron!

BaronessBomburst · 27/10/2026 15:08

They stop at a size 3. According to their questionnaire I'm a 6. The size guide is quite amusing. I recommend trying it.

TemperanceWest · 27/10/2026 15:12

Didn't Madonna wear something similar recently?

ShanghaiDiva · 27/10/2026 15:15

if I splurge on the whole outfit I won’t have enough for the gloves…would a pair of marigolds be acceptable ?

Dexter1973 · 27/10/2026 15:18

Very versatile - dress them up or dress them down. Every wardrobe should have a hard working staple like this.

MirrorClocks · 27/10/2026 15:26

Thanks. That’s given me a huge laugh.

Ohnobackagain · 27/10/2026 15:29

Hell’s teeth @AlphaApple , why is the model wearing washing up gloves with them? On second thoughts, since they look like anti-leak pants I don’t want to know why they might be wearing gloves. I see they have gone to extreme lengths to hide them though.

Truly awful.

Ohnobackagain · 27/10/2026 15:31

Ker-rist on a bike, had to go back for a second look @AlphaApple

Nope, still shite.

AlphaApple · 27/10/2026 15:51

Loving "sexy Maggie Thatcher on safari".

Also thinking they give "Nora Batty goes to Glasto".

These shorts strike a new balance between contemporary lines and the pragmatic simplicity of workwear. The boy shorts style made of poplin features elasticized details that create soft volume to lightly envelop the body.

I was looking for some new workwear basics, so thanks OP 🙏

MrsUrdd · 27/10/2026 15:57

I see they sold out in the bigger sizes... or saved humanity from anyone bigger than a model wearing them

MrsUrdd · 27/10/2026 16:00

Could wear this trick or treating i guess

I’ve just been browsing their other items. What an eye opener. Who buys this stuff!?

MrsMoastyToasty · 27/10/2026 17:25

You would need to wear a liberty bodice on your top half, as my gran would say.

Hiddenhouse · 27/10/2026 17:37

And a mere snip too at almost £600 but not quite

You would need to wear a liberty bodice on your top half, as my gran would say.

I went to school with twins who wore liberty bodices (early/mid 60s). When I asked my mother if I could wear them (because I rather admired those twins, for some reason) she looked at me as if I'd lost my mind.

watchingthishtread · 27/10/2026 12:34

It's the sort of work horse item that one really should have in every colour.

Well it shows them in purple too. Any good?

I seriously doubted your subject line OP, but you have indeed cracked the "What shall I wear?" conundrum from school run to a night out in one fell swoop. How has it taken the fashion industry so long to stumble on this versatile look? And the marigolds to accessorise are nothing short of gorgeous.

I'm struggling to think of anyone I know whom it wouldn't suit.

Or 9 month old Thomas learns to crawl?

The cost per metre of fabric is the mark of a truly exclusive purchase.
