Neals Yard Wild Rose balm, it’s magic in a pot for dry skin. Smells far nicer than Elizabeth Arden 8 hour.

Banjas · 26/10/2026 13:17

Professional Laser hair removal for me too @StellaAndCrow
Life changing !
All those missed beach trips with dc cos the leg hair wasn’t quite grown enough for waxing or should have had it done but beauticians being closed and the sunny spell coincided - a Sunday.
I played a bit of sport but I always wore track suit bottoms whatever the weather if they were in need of a wax.
I never even knew I had pretty nice legs till a few years ago.
People have actually commented.
I kept them well hidden. ☹️
If you are anything like me any posters on this thread, with problematic body hair I urge you to get it done.
It will do wonders for your life.
My wonderful dm helped me pay for it as it was very expensive at the time. 🩷

I sleep with hydrocolloid tape on my chin (which is prone to redness and spots even though k am in my 50s!) a couple of times a week and it makes such a difference

costs about £5 for 2m

it’s the same stuff in those tiny pimple patches

Chocolateteabag · 26/10/2026 14:59

Dyson Airstrait - I bought one from Vinted for xc£125 as didn’t know if it would work on my “lots of thin, but thick, frizzes up” hair
OMG - I can dry my hair in about 15 mins while on MN - it then looks better the next day and for at least 2 days after that (if I don’t do a sweaty run)

im using less heat and less product so my hair feels better for longer.

when this one does eventually die, I think I’ll invest in a new one (but probably from Boots for the points!)

EmailsaysOOO · 26/10/2026 16:28

@Flomasterina hi please can you say more about the magnesium? There seems to be numerous different types. Which are you taking?

Excellentboiledpotato · 26/10/2026 16:38

Rapid Brow serum.

After the travesty of over plucking in the 90s, I thought I was doomed to a life of pencil thin brows. I've been using for about four months now and actually see growth. Fullness. Still a bit patchy but definitely getting to the point where I need to just add in a few pencil strokes rather than make up entirely new eyebrows when I want them. Wish I had heard of it years ago.

InMy40sEra · 26/10/2026 17:59

Aldi’s dupe of Bad gal mascara
Kerastase shampoo and conditioner
K18 for leave in

I have tried very expensive skincare, and it’s a lovely treat, but not worth it as I don’t feel or see a difference.
Looking forward to trying some new things from Advent calendars

FashionVixen · 26/10/2026 18:54

Not a beauty product but using a microfibre towel for my hair really helps to keep the frizz at bay.

HorseandHeron · 26/10/2026 18:58

betwixtme · 24/10/2026 23:09

Elf Halo Glow
Just for Men beard dye as an eyebrow tint (actual game changer for me)
L’Oréal brow lamination gel
Eden perfumes (Stella McCartney dupe for £30, thank you)
Dove Bridgerton deodorant

Edited

Love that eyebrow dye tip. Thank you.

Oh one more, Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. Use it on your chest, you know you see lots of ladies with wrinkly chests, use this, it clears it up totally , mine is a smooth as anything and was quite wrinkly.

when you first start do it nightly, then when your chest is smooth, do it weekly.

it also works on heels, mine are now soft and they were dry and cracked,

Ooooh have been looking for something that works on my chest. Will try this as love my 8 hr cream.

Not a product exactly, but laser hair removal. I spent until the age of 40+ always having to plan for anything that would expose my legs. Going swimming would mean a massive shaving session. I couldn't spontaneously wear shorts. (Well, I could, but not without comments/looks).

Waxing took over an hour and the effect lasted less than a week.

I got laser hair removal over about 10 sessions of an hour each. That was probably 15 years ago, and the hair hasn't come back.

It has changed my life, and I wish it had been available earlier, but hugely grateful I've been able to have it done.

Same! I’ve still a few sessions left but such a big improvement. Even if I have the odd hair I need to shave it’s so much easier to manage already. I wish I’d done it years ago.

LancashireButterPie · 26/10/2026 19:29

Geurlain, Aqua Allegoria parfum in Manadarin.

@Orangebadger i haven’t tried this but a regime of hylauronic acid and 8 hour cream oil spray also massively improved my chest wrinkles

Lush Ultrabland.

D-Mannose for UTIs. Complete game-changer. I haven't had an attack in years and I used to get 2-3 a year.

Pure Argan oil for my hair- smells amazing and makes my super thick, curly hair manageable! I also massage it into my cuticles and dry hands.

Trinny London BFF cream makes me look like I've had eight hours sleep when DD has had me up all night. It's expensive so I always ask for it for Christmas and birthdays!

WhatterySquash · 26/10/2026 22:20

MUA Pro Base compact - as good as many much more expensive versions and has the perfect pale shade for me.

Eucerin Aquaphor - the only thing that soothes and fixes my dry eyelids (and I tried EVERYTHING)

Benefit Dandelion blusher, expensive and I've tried finding dupes but I always go back to it. Perfect if you're pale for making you look awake and healthy, but not as if you're covered in blusher.

ELF 4-colour eyeshadow palette in Rose Water, a palette where I actually use all the colours.

B&B Brilliantine - again worth the £££, makes my fine, floppy flyaway hair look all piecey and styled

Palmers cocoa butter for legs

Superdrug Vitamin E moisturiser range

Sunbringer · 26/10/2026 23:07

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/10/2026 22:31

Clinique Moisture Surge - I really love the texture of it and have never come across anything else that feels so light

Beauty of Joseon sunscreen

I like the Habi Moisture Magic for a light, gel like moisturiser at a lower price.

Mybrowsaresisters · 26/10/2026 23:38

Tretinoin
superdrug milky toner
Margaret Dabbs foot cream
Microbladed eyebrows

Liveanormallife · Yesterday 00:40

1.Bed Head by Tigi Small Talk - hair thickening cream.
2.Medicube pore pads mild. Obvious since Tik tok loves it but they do work
3.Beauty of Joseon Rice Milk Toner
4.Pantene Grow Abundant shampoo & hair serum.
5.Vieve invisiveil setting spray (use after each layer of make up applied)
6.L’oreal Paris setting spray (use to fix completed make up in place
7.Heliocare Mineral SPF 50
8.Prescription Ivermectin cream
9.The Inkey List oat cleansing balm

Your Gut Plus probiotics. It could be a coincidence, but, after 5 and a half years when I was so ill, I thought Long Covid would kill me, my Long Covid seemed to disappear.
And Starflower Oil (1000mg) has been a game changer for my dry eyes. Also worked for the chap who erected our greenhouse.... Crumbs! I sound like a hippy new ager 😅

Hello, would you link to the Starflower Oil (1000mg) you buy please?

Hi @ShatterPersistent
I use the SimplySupplements 1000mg Starflower oil.
I hope it works for you. It takes a while to kick in, but it's been a game changer for me. Our eye hospital tried blocking my tear ducts to keep moisture in my eyes, but it didn't work at all. Now I swipe the eye margins with blephasol on cotton wool pads night and morning to remove any invisible gunk (technical term) and take 2 capsules a day of the starflower oil. Hope this helps.

Can I ask where you get your D Mannose and what quantity you take and when?
