How would you style this bra?

Just looking at coco de mer collab with M&S and they have this bra. I think it looks really lovely and I am a fan of the colour - the notes say wear with a blazer or sheer shirt. Not sure… how would you style it? Or would you just wear it under a polo neck

on a side note, it’s a bit creepy how none of the women have nipples? Or are the lace bras not sheer? I’m assuming they’ve airbrushed them out - particularly on the high neck red one

I think I'd style it straight back to returns. I've no recollection of this style in the 90s

Wonder if that’s on its way back

the red one I can totally see under a blazer

It’s been on its way back (along with lots of other 90s stalwarts - brown, bobs, minimalism, pencil skirts, flares) for a while now.

I fully expect most MNers wore it the first time round (I certainly did!), but this time I’ll be putting the bras under sheer or half-unbuttoned shirts for parties instead of wearing them as is to the pub.

Goodness, I’d not realised Mary Whitehouse was back as well! 😂

Probably with a thermal vest but thats not the advice you are looking for 😂

Just the type of style advice I would have given 😁

I never minded showing a leg but I hated showing bra/boob.

Funnily enough, for public speaking/presentations/giving evidence etc I always liked to have a matching set of lovely underwear below my outfit. Never a tiny thong or bralette though - I liked to feel secure & well-armoured! Ditto make-up - & perfume for some reason ...?

Aubade or Chantelle were my favourites. Don't need to present in front of a sea of men in grey suits these days, so it's now rather ordinary M&S black bras & pants on a daily basis ...

In Allison Pearson's book "I don't know how she does it", the lead character gives a presentation wearing a saucy red bra - but forgets that the shirt she put over it is sheer.

Personally, I have never given any thought to my underpinnings when giving presentations, other than that I wouldn't want a wardrobe malfunction, or to be uncomfortable.

I do love the word "underpinnings" ... & it perfectly sums up what I feel good underwear does - gives me structure & support!!

Just as foundations "underpin" a building - & just as, in the past, corsets, petticoats & bustles etc "underpinned" the silhouette of the wearer's outer garments.

On reflection I’ve decided my E cups are too big for this range of bras even if I could figure out how to best wear them!!

tbh the plus size model doesn’t look great in them so there’s no way I would! I guess they are designed for a smaller bust

Designed for a smaller bust ... or the bedroom!!

(Mind you, even when I did own a drawerful of gorgeous lingerie, my partner never really noticed ...)

My friend has bras similar to this from Bravissimo. She has K cup boobs. A lot less cutting in on her shoulders too.

Usually just as a normal bra. But I think they'd look equally nice with an off the shoulder sweater too.

She's not the type to have lingerie as outer wear. With K cups, she'd be treated like some sort of porn actress.

I own a similar set to this and as it's 'underwear' I only wear it under clothing to go out in (perhaps I'm old-fashioned though!). I know some people opt to wear this style and show it off but each to their own.
