Thank you all. The right one is oval, I think the flash made it look more square for some reason!

The second one is definitely an oval but there's something odd going on with either the photo or the setting as there should be a claw at the bottom - that's a 4 claw setting so dunno what that blob at the bottom is!

I've enlarged it as far as it will go on my laptop screen and the blob at the bottom looks more like a claw at me - I am convinced it's rectangular and it looks like a radiant not an emerald cut. We need @PassiveAggressivePanda to come back and confirm the cut of number 2 as it's impossible to be certain from the photo.

x-post - as if by magic!

I still prefer the round one to the oval.

PassiveAggressivePanda · 18/10/2026 22:06

@TofuTuesday correct! The smaller one is natural and the larger one is lab grown.

Smaller one

Pipsquiggle · 18/10/2026 22:08

The right one. It's proportions suits your hand better

TubeScreamer · 18/10/2026 22:11

The bigger one. The small one is lost on your hand and looks nondescript,

@TofuTuesday correct! The smaller one is natural and the larger one is lab grown.

Thought so! I would go with the natural stone every time. I also like the simple classic look of it.

Are they both set in the same metal/metal purity?

hairypaws · 18/10/2026 22:24

Left one is much prettier imo

CinnamonJellyBeans · 18/10/2026 22:27

The most expensive one.

ScabbyHorse · 18/10/2026 22:27

Left one

Evie8989 · 18/10/2026 22:29

The one on the right 😍

Sidebeforeself · 18/10/2026 22:33

Left one is meh and looks cheap . Sorry just my opinion !

I would prefer the one on the left if they were my only choice. That's not to do with what they look like though, more that I hate sticky uppy stones that get in the way and catch on things. The left one would be less troublesome.
I prefer, and have, a flush setting of 4 sapphires. Doesn't catch on anything.
So the left one for me.

We looked everywhere for a ring like the one on the left, I specifically wanted one where I could get my hand in and out of pockets. It never catches on anything, and I never need to take it off.
I think it’s elegant and understated.
The second one also looks nice. I just think you’d take it off all the time, and then potentially lose it.

PeonyBulb · 18/10/2026 23:22

The bigger one

PurpleFlower1983 · 18/10/2026 23:29

Right one.

Nofeckingway · 18/10/2026 23:30

Another vote for square one .

TeenLifeMum · 18/10/2026 23:35

I’m so confused why people are calling the oval shape square, even before you posted another pic.

I personally prefer ethically mined diamonds over lab grown because I love the history attached. If you’re not bothered about that then the bigger one does suit your hand. I’m not usually a fan of the big lab grown garish rings but this one is lovely and not too big.
