Yes. I like make up and I enjoy the ritual of putting it on. I like that it takes some years of me, I think I look old and tired without it. I also like playing with different colours and styles and false lashes and looking a bit different if I’m going out.

Makebelieveanotherlife · Yesterday 18:38

I do. From foundation to eyes and lips - it takes me under 5 minutes. I’ve done it for years and years it’s like brushing my teeth. I look soooo much more put together and feel much better

SauvignonBlanche · Yesterday 18:39

I do, every single day. I have acne roseaca and have a bright red nose if I don’t.

SandrenaIsMyBloodType · Yesterday 18:40

If I’m having a lazy weekend at home, I mostly don’t bother but equally, if I find myself having an unproductive day at home during the week, I winch myself off the sofa, go and spend 5 minutes putting some makeup on and then magically feel better able to clean the bathroom. It doesn’t make much sense, nobody but me can see my face, but somehow it provokes action.

Disturbia81 · Yesterday 18:40

I do, I do my full face in 10 mins and have a strong look.

JustAMiddleAgedDirtBagBaby · Yesterday 18:49

I don't - I am full of awe at how impressive some of the makeup I see on some women is and the effect of continuing etc. but it's not for me - I feel like a clown in face paint in a full face.

I like a strong lip when I do wear it, but again, that's seldom enough that I feel a bit weird and noticeable when I do.

No idea if it makes me look younger, no-one has ever been rude enough to tell me.

Petrine · Yesterday 18:50

I always put my makeup on no matter whether I'm staying in or going out. It doesn't take long and I look so much better with it on.

Strawberrryfields · Yesterday 18:51

I do. It’s a normal part of getting ready for me, takes 5mins and makes me look and feel more put together. It’s pretty minimal for the day time but obvious I’m wearing it. Will still go to the shop barefaced and not horrified I’ve I’m spotted without but i don’t give wearing it much thought, I’ve worn it since I was a teen.

sesquipedalian · Yesterday 18:52

My DSis wears it every day. She once characterised my friends and me as “strangers to the make-up counter.” I only wear make-up if I’m going to a wedding or similar.

JellyOnMyShoe · Yesterday 18:52

For work, yes.
Otherwise, not unless I’m going ‘out out’.

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · Yesterday 18:55

No. Only when I go actually out.. Not just for a walk, but to the town, or to meet friends or family, or for a meal or evening out. Around 4 days of the week I don't wear make up.

Pspacelock · Yesterday 18:58

I do, it's part of my daily routine. Takes 5 mins. I've had to have a few barefaced days in the past year due to eye and facial treatments, but I'll still wear colour where I can, eg. lips and brows.

I think I'd still wear makeup even if I didn't plan to leave the house, I have young dcs and wouldn't keep them cooped up all day so it's been years since I've spent the whole day at home.

Topseyt123 · Yesterday 19:00

Good god no! Not me.

I think the last time I remember wearing make-up was on my wedding day 33 years ago. I've not worn it since then to my knowledge.

I can't be arsed with it and couldn't really give a shit.

Waitingfordoggo · Yesterday 19:01

No, I’ve never got into make-up. I tried it a bit as a teenager but have never been any good at applying it so I soon gave up on it. I do wear mascara a handful of times a year, if I’m going somewhere smart or a special occasion. But anything more than mascara is too much- the more I put on, the older I look (or the more like a drag queen). I don’t think I have the right sort of features for it. Just as well really as I’m very lazy and like to stay in bed until the last possible moment in the mornings.

NovemberMorn · Yesterday 19:04

Like another poster said, I like the ritual of putting on makeup. Once on, apart from reapplying a bit of lipstick, I am done for the day.
I do it for myself, like painting my nails, it's just something pleasurable to add to my day.

GrillaMilla · Yesterday 19:05

I wear a bit of foundation, powder, blusher, eye liner, eye shadow and mascara, every day without fail. It makes me feel better, and I look better too.

I'm a total stranger to the make-up counter too.

I either pointedly ignore them or just stride purposefully past if I have to go into stores that have them.

HorseandHeron · Yesterday 19:05

I do. I work from home and often see no one. It's for me, part of a morning wake up and start the day routine. Not much - not full foundation. But at the very least mascara and a concealer. Most days, also eye shadow, eyebrow pencil, lipstick and blusher too. It takes me 5 minutes to put on. I am very pale and wear prescription glasses that make my eyes look smaller than they are. Without make up I look ill, exhausted and a bit mean spirited.

Gettingbysomehow · Yesterday 19:08

I always wear eye makeup. I dont want to frighten the children and horses.
I don't need foundation but occasionally wear bronzer.
I dont think caked on heavy base suits anyone.

PistachioTiramisu · Yesterday 19:15

Yes, every single day, and have done since my 20s. What's more, I refresh in the early evening with a new make up. The works - concealer, foundation, powder, blusher, eyebrow gel, lip gloss. I look awful without it! (I have rosacea)

GameOfJones · Yesterday 19:21

Me! Fortunately I have good skin but I'm really pale with pale eyelashes and I feel like I look better with a bit of definition so every day I wear mascara, liquid blush and a tinted lip balm. It probably takes me 60 seconds to do but makes me look and feel instantly better.

For going to work I'll do a bit more. A tinted moisturiser and eyeliner too and a bit of setting powder or setting spray so it lasts the full day. That probably takes me 3 minutes in total.

ithinkilikethislittlelife · Yesterday 19:24

MudandMoet · Yesterday 18:04

Me! Wouldn’t even walk the dog without it. Takes me all of 5 mins unless I’m going out out.

Same. I feel “done” when I’ve done my make up.

NovemberMorn · Yesterday 19:28

One thing I don't wear now is mascara. I stopped wearing it in lockdown, and cleansing my face is so much easier now I have done away with it.
My eyelashes are dark, and tbh, I don't look much different with or without it.

Doppe · Yesterday 19:32

I haven’t left the house, or even opened the front door, without some degree of makeup on for about 35 years! I had acne as a young teen and still don’t have great skin, added to which, terribly dark under eye circles. I feel horribly exposed with no make on.

CortieTat · Yesterday 19:39

I do! It’s minimal - sheer, dewy foundation, blush stick, colourful eyeliner (never black), tubing mascara and brow pencil in my natural hair colour. My makeup is part of my sunscreen coverage, I always wear sunscreen, also inside the house.
