@scienceteachersarefun they are from m&s 🥰

Nice! I'd wear them with that nice stripey red/pink top from Zara

The style of jacket you describe is very on trend. In the city yesterday I saw loads of women wearing that style of jacket (short, falling just short of waist length) with wide leg trousers.
I love ballet flats, and I keep seeing articles that they're on trend, but I never see anyone wearing them out and about!

Oh, I hate joggers, I thought they looked more like structured trousers?

Franxi · 13/10/2026 19:08

G5000 · 12/10/2026 15:00

depends on what trend you were aiming for. I imagine something like PE teacher on gardening leave?

Apart from the ballet flats, this sounds like the get up my old director used to wear on dress down Fridays. He had a lot of rugby shirts!!

They are structured but also soft, best of both worlds 🙌

Ok, but not that nasty jogger fabric? Are they more like cotton?

No, it’s not jogger fabric, just a soft feel but structured look.

Oh I see, disappointing! They look nice in the picture though. I'm looking for structured ones with a cotton feel, if anyone can recommend.

What’s nasty jogger fabric? I only have cotton ones.

That stuff that's obviously not cotton! Sorry, it's probably a man made fabric which goes baggy, those are the ones I mean. Young people often have them in grey.

boxofcrap · 13/10/2026 20:28

Grey marl is normally a cotton/poly blend due to the nature of the fabric.

Ah, thank you!
Anyway, sorry OP - that's a bit of a derail, back to the topic!

PrimaniTu · 13/10/2026 20:36

Op do you follow WAT the Brand or We are Twinset on Instagram - they are the same people? They’re pretty on trend and I’d say these are the clothes they are wearing. They look good in them.

MrsPernicious · 13/10/2026 20:50

Fruit of the loom light grey marl - prison issue trackies

I’m in my 50s.
We have a dress code for work so none of the ops clothes would be acceptable for work.
I suppose I am more of a ‘dressy’ dresser.
I like to wear dresses.
Like l said before I have been advised not to wear ballet flats as they are bad for feet, and Adidas don’t suit my feet either.
Got my first pair of Adidas Kicks when I was 12 😊.
Im not into cargo pants. I have worn them in the past, around the All Saints’ Days.

DrumsPleaseFab · 14/10/2026 08:15

My list is similar to yours OP

i am restraining myself as I so love the 90s vibe and don’t want to go it head to toe only to find that next year everyone is back in skinnies and tunics 😂

but baggy trousers and fitted top and bomber jacket are what I am wearing

am 55, hence the excitement about 90s style being back 😂 Some of my more Boden-wearing friends have laughed at my balloon pants but I don’t care . Baggy trousers and wide trousers give me joy, not sure why, but they do 😊

DrumsPleaseFab · 14/10/2026 08:17

The ballet flats I’ve been wearing are Speed cats though, not adidas, but probably back to doc martens now for winter

boxofcrap · 14/10/2026 08:30

i have lived in my adidas samba ballets the last 3 months (have 2 pairs), they are so comfy!

TheLastSilverSaint · 16/10/2026 14:37

Tallguyinawhiteshirt · 12/10/2026 17:04

Cargo, baggy pants are everywhere with ballet fflats?! Plus checked & denim shirts 😬

I still wouldn't call them 'trends'. They're all pretty classic, universal things that people have been wearing casually for years. They're not dated, but they're not 'trends' either, really; they're basics. I've had oversized checked and denim shirts like that in my wardrobe pretty much constantly since the 1990s, and I think I've owned cargo pants of one kind or another since then too. Also baseball tops and long-sleeve t-shirts, and certainly Adidas trainers.

There's nothing wrong with these clothes. They sound great. Just not 'trends' as such. Style, yes. Trend, no.

CharlotteSometimes1 · 16/10/2026 17:54

Almost
the sleeves on the rugby shirt and baseball shirt must be slightly wider at the cuff and in fact have no cuff.

adidas trainers have had their day - out.

Thecows · 16/10/2026 19:34

Adidas and Puma both good
