Yes to all except the rugby shirt. I have literally purchased these items in the past 2 months. Not saying that I’m to be fair 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m 50+

G5000 · 12/10/2026 15:00

depends on what trend you were aiming for. I imagine something like PE teacher on gardening leave?

Retro12 · 12/10/2026 15:06

😄

Wildgoat · 12/10/2026 15:20

These are just basic casual stuff not in fashion or out, except cargos which are a bit dated now, ballets are quite on trend, the rest are basics, not sure on the denim and checked shirts though,

in trend would be wide leg trousers and jeans, smart trainers, ballet flats, long sleeve t shirts are constants,

it’s a bit of an odd list,

TheLastSilverSaint · 12/10/2026 15:20

None of that sounds what I'd call 'on trend'. They'll all just ordinary basics that are around all the time, year after year. They're fine but they're not trends.

Definitely a nod to the trends but ballets etc have been a thing for ages & it’s getting a bit cold for them. I bought my rugby top from Zara last autumn & wore it quite a bit in spring.

Yes I've had mine since Spring, no rugby style yet though but want one
what else should be on the list?

I would say that a lot of these items are on trend right now - particularly funnel neck jacket, adidas trainers, denim shirt.

Since the end of summer I have bought Flared leg jeans, wide barrel jeans, funnel neck jacket, ballet flats, patent loafer style shoes, brown wide leg “suit” trousers, cropped boxy jacket style cardigan.

and I still have denim shirt on the list and I’d like to get a pink striped shirt but haven’t found one yet that isn’t too oversized and swamps me.

Depends on what trend you are following....

Theres a distinct difference in upper working class shopping at boden etc, ive found working class and students are merging.

Ive worn cargoes for years but have also had my own style since I was a teen. Its boring following a crowd.

boxofcrap · 12/10/2026 20:33

It depends what you like? I am looking for some nice jumpers at the moment & I want a new mac.

Qualitypinnacle · 12/10/2026 20:55

It sounds like what 90% of the influencers coming up on my feed are wearing, so I'd say definitely on trend

Wisterical · 12/10/2026 21:19

Yes, you'll be on trend with all those, except the ballet flats which are over now summer is over. Try some loafers or high ankle boots. You've missed out longish skirts, gathered waist with plenty of fabric. Great with a sweatshirt or wool jumper. Also (my absolute favourite at the moment) woollen kilts.

I've not managed to find any grea6 rugby shirts yet though.

sweetpickle2 · 12/10/2026 21:22

The funnel neck jacket is incredibly on trend, every man and his dog is wearing one.

Do you actually like these OP or are you more concerned about either they’re on trend? The thing with trends is they pass, so what happens to this big list of clothes once it has moved on if you only like them because they’re trendy?

Ballet flats still seem to be going strong though with long, baggy pants, I'm not as keen on loafers

You’d fit right in around here, I see loads of people out and about wearing very similar stuff.
Do you need more stuff? Are you trying to ‘fit in’ with anyone in particular?

Edited

I love them all and am loving the baggy look that's been around for a while now:) I wouldn't wear anything I don't like

They may call it "gardening leave", but the proper term is suspended pending Governors' decision. It's not looking good, Steve.

Well then. Wear all the stuff you've listed. Nothing on there appeals to me, but you go for it.

Summerlovingtheraspberries · 13/10/2026 05:16

No that’s not my style.
I did have a great rugby top but spilt bleach on it so it had to go.
I’ve been advised not to wear ballet flats, bad for the feet, and I don’t find Adidas trainers comfortable.
If you like those things then wear them.

MintTwirl · 13/10/2026 09:52

Those things aren’t my style. The funnel neck jacket is on trend though.

I don’t tend to change my style for trends because I like my own style. So I will just add certain things that I think blend in with my usual clothes. I just bought an A line pleather skirt on Vinted which I am looking forward to wearing.
