Socks pulled up over leggings

I saw the leggings with sports socks pulled up and trainers look yesterday for the first time in I can't remember how long. Is it back in or did it just disappear for the summer?

It's never gone 'out' for a certain demographic but its been 20+ degrees for months...

It's been around a while now, invisible trainer socks are no longer trendy.

Looks stupid.
Here we are in a cold climate...its been.months of whilte socks eww.

I thought it looked odd when I first saw it but now I am used to it I think it looks fine. Very sensible for a cold climate!

Not a look I would wear but it’s fine for the youngsters.

I participate in this look but only for the gym , as literally all the women there do it so I guess you could call me a sheep …. I bought white Nike socks especially 🤣

I'm 48 and sporting this look today - mainly as it is now cold enough to wear longer socks.

This is how I go to the gym!
I don’t wear leggings for any reason other than exercise though but I’m a big fan of long socks under trousers (which I also try and buy mega long) to bridge the gap between shoe and trousers and to retain ankle warmth 😂

Well, socks look stupid tucked under leggings. And trainer socks are chilly this time of year.

Zone 3 London, sports socks pulled up over leggings have been around among the leisurewear young people for at least for the last three years.

I don’t wear it but I wear any socks tucked under my leggings 🤣. I do have trainer socks on today but am thinking about sports socks over my leggings as it’s colder. My DD will probably kill me though ha ha

I do this for the office (v casual workplace) I’m 49 and copying the younger ones lol, have been for 2+ years!

No idea if it’s in or out, but I was cold so I have my socks up over leggings today. Both black so hopefully inoffensive. I’m not sure I care so there’s that.

I wear sports socks over leggings AND with flip flops, but only when working from home, because I feel the cold 🥶. If I had skinnier calves I would do the socks over leggings out of the house too, because I think it looks neat, practical and aesthetically pleasing. Sadly, I am too chunky of calf.

It’s so much warmer. I hate little trainer liners. Proper socks in lovely designs all the way here.

Do they have to be white socks? I'm ridiculously fond of wearing socks that contrast or harmonise with whatever other colours I've chosen to wear that day.

I'm not bendy enough to tuck anything into leggings, and can't get my feet down through the clingy leg holes if I put socks on first, so if I go for leggings the socks will always be on the outside.

Only time I don't wear socks is on the beach when I intend getting into the sea. I was rocking the socks and sandals combo long before the yoofer caught on. In fact I'm such a style icon that it wouldn't surprise me if a fashion for matching florescent orange socks and cardigans swept the nation next year!

It's a look I've only seen on teenagers. I don't think I'd go for it myself.

My sons girlfriend has done this for 4/5 years, all of the young people at my gym do too

V common in people of all ages I thought? My workplace has women ranging 22-40 and is very casual, I think I've probably seen the leggings + white socks + oversized jumper look on everyone at this point.

Oh, is that look back again? After my initial surprise, I quite liked it but I had forgotten all about it. I guess it’s rearing it’s head again because of the change in the weather.

I couldn’t wear them but they are fashionable now. I still wear the tiny trainer socks of my younger years. I’m early 40s they’re still fairly common around people 35 upwards.

I still chuckle every time.

I just can’t bring myself to do it. It looks so stupid.
