For example, what do you do in the mornings? What do you eat? Meditation or exercise? I'm looking forward to all your suggestions.

I do try and go for a run first thing in the morning before there are too many people around.
Its getting noticably cooler now but once i get going, warm its a lovely feeling

I get up between 5.30 and 6am and run 6-10 miles. Get back as the kids are getting up, have a light breakfast and a shower and feel awake and ready to start the day. On a rest day I feel sluggish and haven't had my morning hit of endorphins.

FreddysFingers · Yesterday 05:39

A nice hot shower with a luxurious smelling shower gel or soap sets me up for the day, it doesn't have to be expensive, just something that I love the smell of. And an uplifting perfume and body lotion to finish off with, again doesn't have to be £££, just something I really like :). I know it sounds daft, but wearing good underwear gives me a boost too, a bra that gives you a nice shape, and nice comfy knickers. Sounds silly, but it really works for me :). Whether you're wearing earphones or in the car, listen your favourite music, pick something that really lifts your spirits. These things make all the difference to me, and make mornings bearable :).

My partner and I sleep separately. He brings me a coffee in the morning then we do a cryptic crossword in bed together.

I love this.

I do 20 mins of yoga with Adriene in the morning. In the nice weather I do it in the garden. My plan is to start adding on 10 mins of meditation as well.

wake up, quick wash and outside for a walk regardless of the weather ...

no phone, no screens, no caffeine for at least an hour from waking

How far do you walk and how long does it take you?Are you living rurally? I love the idea of this! Do you take a dog?

In terms of exercise, i am riddled with arthritis. But there is a pool near the DCs school and during term time I drop them off then am in the pool by 8.15 for half an hour very gentle swimming. I start again in September and have definitely missed it.

I am a runner so the days I go for a run at 6 am before everyone else wakes up are the best! I feel like whatever happens later in the day I can handle it, I already have a one small.win to my name:-). I have to be organised for this, clothes prepared night before, packed lunches made, uniforms ready etc but it's so worth it. I also walk our dog before starting work (I work from home most days).

Macinae · Yesterday 10:41

I'm not naturally a morning person but when WFH (3 days a week, 2 in office) I still get up at 6am, go for a run then come back and walk the dog before work. I could get an extra hour and half in bed but I enjoy starting my day outside and with exercise. Weekends I stay in bed with a coffee as a reward, because life is all about balance.

beaglescurleduplikebagels · Yesterday 10:47

A coffee in peace and quiet is my ideal way to begin any day.

On work days, that's downstairs with the dog, on weekends and holidays, in bed with a book. This morning, I had one in bed, then one out on the patio with a book while DH watered his plants.

Katigee410 · Yesterday 10:49

I have to have a long hot shower, cup of tea. I walk to work so that's my morning exercise
Weekend a lie in, cuddle and then plenty of coffee

Bunnyofhope · Yesterday 10:54

See daylight. Get coffee and take it outside even in winter, even if muffled up in a coat. Look in the direction of the sun, but not at it obviously. Then come in, get dressed etc.

24Dogcuddler · Yesterday 10:56

Cuddle my Spaniels when DH has gone to work. Take my inhaler, word puzzles on my phone, cappuccino. I’m retired.
All scuppered atm as I’m looking after DD puppy when she’s at work. She can’t walk her yet
( injections) so DH picks her up before work. 6 am get up atm to prep for 7.30 arrival. She’s worth it.

Wow I’m impressed with some of your morning routines, you all have kids right??

My morning consists of -
alarm goes off, press snooze, repeat for about half an hour until I can finally get up.

Sleepily unload the dishwasher while making kids pack ups.

Shout kids to get out of bed
start breakfast
Shout kids again
feed kids breakfast
Spend about 30 minutes chasing various children round the house trying to find reading books, missing jumpers, get them to brush their teeth etc.

Down a large espresso and run out of the door and deliver various children to their schools.

If it’s a really good morning I might even put a wash on.

Minasama · Yesterday 17:40

I like to wash my face with a flannel and hot water. There’s something very relaxing about pressing a hot flannel onto your face.

Bach Before 7 on Radio 3 breakfast with a coffee in bed. I’m clearly not the only person who relies on it because when they changed presenters recently there was a lot of reassurance it would stay. Just a beautiful moment of transcendence before the day really gets going (no small children thank goodness).

I absolutely love Radio 3 in the morning. I like their news as well, seems slightly more in depth than Radio 2 but a quick snapshot.

I get up early and go to the gym most mornings. It definitely helps me feel my best and sets me up for the day

I have one son at high school. On those mornings I take him to school then swim from 8.45am. So because I’m shorter on time I’ll do 40 lengths and start work later. When he’s at his dad’s the other half of the week, I go at 7.45am get the 70 lengths in and start work at 9am! It wakes me up and leaves me feeling great for the rest of the day. I alternate it with lunchtime gym sessions so I don’t get bored if either. Oh I wfh which makes it so much easier to do.

momager22 · Yesterday 18:16

3 days/ week I get up at 6 (5.45 alarm)
Flat white with creatine, wash my face with cold water and Phillips lumea mask
Gym class then quick sauna
Cool Shower and wash hair at gym
Walk to work 30 mins
Hard boiled eggs and green yoghurt with fruit mid morning
The other 2 week days I do the same with no gym class/ sauna. Just shower at home and go to work early. I feel better than I ever have
Disclaimer - no kids, I go to bed early and meal
prep on a Sunday!

cupfinalchaos · Yesterday 18:22

Coffee and a workout before I can talk myself out of it.

RJMacReady · Yesterday 19:41

I really need to start running again 😫

Oldgalgames · Yesterday 22:28

Feed the dog and make a cup of tea which i take back to bed to drink with a banana, then up and to the gym for 7am, 1 hour of strength training and 15 mins of sauna, shower and home for breakfast, greek yogurt, granola and honey ready to start work for 9am. I do this every other day the days inbetween i go for an hours walk rather than the gym, this sets me up for a good day!

Wherethedogsits · Yesterday 22:32

I’m my best when I get up and out. So coffee, dress and out the house: gym four mornings a week and a five mile walk on the other days.

Ooooohhhyessss · Yesterday 22:39
