Are expensive hairdryers worth it?

I’ve always used standard, cheap ones. Is it worth paying hundreds for a Dyson or similar? Do they really make any difference?

That's my hair and I had a Parlux for years and years before the Dyson . I had an Aylon.

I have the Dyson hairdryer and the shark multi styler/hair dryer.

Gave the Dyson to my daughter. Shark wins hands down.

I have thin hair and a lot of it. Check out a good leave in conditioner, i am currently using https://www.asos.com/prd/211124423?acquisitionsource=pasteboard which is brilliant for fly away, make my hair super glossy.

as for hairdryer, i always go for mid range, currently using a £60 remington.

I have lots of thick, shoulder length hair. I had a first generation Dyson, which is garbage and now have an Elchim, which I love. Used a newer generation Dyson recently in a hotel and really liked it, but didn't want to buy one as I think he's a proper cunt (sorry!), so I bought a Shark Flexstyle to try instead for when I want to do more styling than a quick drying blast, and have been really happy with it.

I have thick shoulder length hair and love my Dyson.
It’s 7 years old now and I’ve had no problems with it (although I’ve probably just jinxed it).
It dries my hair quickly, much more so than any other hairdryer I’ve ever owned, and even if I just blast it with the dryer it’s left with a smooth finish.

I bought a Dyson about 3-4 years ago , my adult DD 'shared' it now it lives in her room permanently. She loves it , her hair is sleek and glossy when she dries it . Cuts down on the amount of heat she needs ( straighteners) . If she lets her hair dry naturally she has proper ringlets !
She was inspir3d to get her hair cut to a collar length bob when she got this as she could style without damage and quickly .

I bought an Air strait as it dries and straightens in one but a massive annoying plug .

So much Dyson hate is the man himself not the products which are good.

I’ve got a GHD Speed. I’ve got lots of fine flyaway hair that I blowdry daily. It’s a total game changer for me. Takes literally 3 minutes to get it bone dry and tamed. 5 minutes if I wanna style it somewhat. I’d immediately replace it if it broke but it does have a 2 year warranty as well.

I got the Aldi dupe of the Dyson when my basic Revlon hairdryer died. I’m impressed with it. I have frizz-prone hair and whilst you still have to dry it, I think the results are better. Probably would not fork out for a real Dyson though as my hairdresser told me hers broke when the warranty ran out.
