I wish Phase Eight and others wouldn’t use Evri

Why do retailers bother using Evri? Phase Eight in this case. Ordered (I hope) a nice dress on Thursday, not particularly cheap, paid for delivery Friday. So far this is the delivery. And of course apart from gnashing my teeth there’s bugger all I can do about it. Maybe they will manage to actually get near my address on Monday? Or maybe not.

Evri are the worst couriers ever. They are so bad in our area that we wrote a group letter to our MP via our town neighbourhood site. Hundreds of people signed it.
They temporarily handed over deliveries to royal mail while they sorted themselves out and they are better now but I can see parcels are still being delivered to the wrong houses on occasion.

Lots of companies only use evri for delivery so you have no choice or you have shop with someone else

I’ve got the same with H&M and Evri at the moment, paid for next day delivery on Monday, parcel still hasn’t arrived and according to Evri is ‘stuck’. H&M say we need to let Evri have more time before we can escalate it!!

Ive always found Evri to be good. Ive had various people deliver on behalf of Evri, but always on time.

Its Royal Mail i dont want.

And DPD always super good - which is almost always the same man.

You have to leave it a whole week unfortunately before they will do anything.
We went through a phase with evri where I was ordering shoes/occasion dfesses for weddi gs that were ordered in penty of time and turning up long after the wedding was over.

Evri are not very good where we are, but I have found that if I pay for next day delivery, they use Royal Mail, who are much more reliable IME.

I’ve found royal mail very good in the past, although they did something very similar with a delivery a couple of weeks ago and I eventually found that they had managed to send it (with the correct address and postcode) halfway across the country and then back again, no idea how that happened.

Never had any issues with DPD and it seems to be the same small group of drivers who deliver. I’m guessing they charge a bit more but I wish retailers would consider how badly poor deliveries reflect on them.

Evri has been terrible here in the past but at the moment is brilliant. It's the same courier each time who is very helpful and punctual. Royal Mail are great too. DPD are usually good but the past month have been hopeless. They were supposed to deliver to me on Monday, failed to do so, said the parcel would arrive in the next two days. It turned up on Friday, two hours beyond the delivery window. And another parcel due from DPD last Monday has disappeared into the ether. I think the regular driver must have left.

Where I live, Evri is the only carrier that is reliable, on time and sticks to the planned delivery slot! And I live in London so it’s not like we don’t have a range of couriers!

And our Evri driver has been the same man for 3 years and really is great!

They’re horrible. I’m currently waiting for a parcel that was scheduled for delivery yesterday between 18:30-20;30….crickets.

Evri are incredibly area sensitive.

Our guy is absolutely fabulous. So therefore, I think Evri are fine - better than Royal mail infact.

Old house (in their Hermes days) was absolutely shocking, and I thought they were useless.

Evri is horrific. I never get my parcel delivered to my house despite having loaded my W3W location, pinning my house on the map and adding a photo of my house into the Evri app. The delivery drivers have three separate ways to locate and identify my house with the information given to them in the app and they still always deliver my parcels to assorted neighbours. I live rurally and often the parcel ends up a mile away. To make matters worse they never deliver on the day they claim they will. Also their AI agent Sophie can get in the bin! It's fucking useless.

That’s a fair point - it’s very dependent on the person delivering and I’m in a big city - we rarely get the same person twice. Looking at it from the customer side, I don’t think Evri have much oversight of their drivers’ performance or quality control. DPD and RM generally seem tighter on that, at least around here.

I just got Phase Eight to process a delivery cost refund, now hoping that eventually the parcel turns up.

Evri was awful where I am in SE London way back in Lockdown but has got better and better and is now my courier of choice. Very area dependent.

Depends where you live, I get parcels sent to the coop and it’s really efficient

We're rural and our Evri drivers are fantastic, they're a husband and wife who cover a huge area. I've got both their mobile numbers and always tip them off if I've left a collection as Next tend to be horrendous for scheduling pick ups. Same with DPD, they're brilliant and the chap always leaves parcels behind our gate.

DHL and Yodel on the other hand are utter nightmares.

Area dependent as others have said. They are terrible where we are and, this week, it seems to have really deteriorated. I tend to avoid using them wherever possible.

However, the real issue I have is having other people's parcels dumped on my drive. Before Christmas, I literally a Santa-sack worth, randomly, dumped on my driveway. I have also noticed many of the couriers dump the parcels and seem very doorbell-phobic. Possibly because I won't take them in and make them deliver to the actual address.

Our Hermes/Evri courier was awesome, during lock down. We were spoilt, on reflection

So much depends on the driver. Ours is Humberto and he is excellent.

for Phase 8, I’d order through John Lewis click and collect to my nearest Waitrose!

I do think some retailers handle Evri better than others, though. Next are really hot on them if they don’t deliver and will let you know if they are running late. Next will always replace a
parcel that doesn’t arrive in time and if you
get it twice they usually don’t ask you to send it back. They have also on occasion emailed me to
check if I have received a delivery. M&S on the other hand, I always avoid deliveries from them if I can because they seem to let Evri run amok, so I use click and collect. Having said that, if the delivery gets as far as the courier, our lady is very good. The problems seem to occur between the retailer and Evri sending the parcel out for delivery

I wish all companies had to confirm which delivery company will be used before you submit the order.

Our Evri lady was fantastic, same person for several years but she had to go part-time and the man that covers the other days is useless.

I won't order now if they use Evri but its not always obvious until its too late.

I had an Anthropologie order due for delivery on Friday - courier was Yodel. I was at home, no ring on the bell, saw I had an email saying it had been delivered through the letterbox. It hadn’t been delivered through our letterbox. I had to download a bloody app to see the photo of where it was - next door, which is currently empty/up for sale! Fortunately there was a viewing yesterday and the estate agent popped it through but what a joke,

Royal Mail are worse never know what time they will turn up and they won't leave behind the gate as the others do.
