What shoes?

Hello,
Off out on Friday evening with some colleagues and plan to wear this. Will be going a few bars. Not feeling great about myself at the minute and ChatGPT has told me the dress does nothing for my shape but unfortunately, I just have no waist at the minute due to weight gain (perimenopause 😩) so please no comments about how it does nothing for my figure as maxi dresses are the only thing I feel comfortable in right now 😭
Anyway, what shoes would you wear? Black flat sandals, black heeled sandals, trainers? I have no gold shoes.
Does the outfit look ok overall? I will also be wearing a bracelet that matches the necklace.

Black ballet flats and good bra, also stand up tall. That dress requires confident posture. I hope you have a wonderful time.

Tattletail · Yesterday 16:14

I would personally wear black sandals, preferably chunky ones. I think the outfit looks nice.

And on a side note what on earth does chatGPT know!

Girlwithavibe · Yesterday 16:15

Think u look fab ! I'd wear simple thin 3 strap birks or simple flip flops the ones u can wear going out in black !!

Culpeper · Yesterday 16:18

Not black ballet flats as suggested. Instant frumpsville.

I’d wear chunky sandals. DM style if you have them.

TemporarilyCantDoMyself · Yesterday 16:18

Either of the sandals and tell Chatgpt to fuck off, you look lovely! You've got lovely arms and shoulders and that dress is great for showing them off. 🤩

OneNewEagle · Yesterday 16:19

Black sandals and you look great, what does AI know! I love that dress.

Awcw1234 · Yesterday 16:22

I have chunky black sandals similar to these? Also have heeled chunky black sandals (open toe) and chunky black heels with closed toes.

Yes, those sandals are perfect.

Trickedbyadoughnut · Yesterday 16:25

Started to type chunky black sandals and then saw the ones you posted - they look perfect.

I really like the dress and how it looks on you. ChatGPT can naff off.

WhatToWearMilan · Yesterday 16:36

I think chunky sandals work best too

I am interested what feedback chap gpt gave?

Awcw1234 · Yesterday 16:39

Thank you everyone, feel a bit better now 😂
ChatGPT basically told me that the dress doesn’t show off my waist line and the bottom half was heavy making my look wiser! The truth is though, I don’t think it does. It is just my shape right now!

How tall are you op?

I think the dress looks good for a night out. I am not sure if it's a slightly dropped waist or if you're not tall & it's stiting lower & that's what it picked up on

Either way - totally wear it

Overtheatlantic · Yesterday 16:45

Don’t wear chunky sandals with such lightweight fabric; massive frump alert. Much better with a ballet flats or a kitten heel.

SeditiousPam · Yesterday 16:48

Look, I have no thoughts on your figure at all - you look perfectly fine. But do you really and truly not have anything else at all to wear? That odd conjunction at the waist does bring to mind a fancy dress ‘witch’ costume. And it’s not clear if the skirt part is designed to be crumpled, or not.

I’m sorry but it’s a very strange outfit for an evening of bars.

Someone on another thread posted this earlier; it’s long, 100% cotton, ‘flattering’ and a great bargain.

dogsmaid · Yesterday 16:52

I think you look good, nice shoulders & arms , I would pair it with black sandals ideally a heel or platform.

dogsmaid · Yesterday 16:53

@SeditiousPamI would rather wear the OPs dress than that boring stripy one you linked for a night out.

Awcw1234 · Yesterday 16:57

A witche’s costume? 😩🙈
For the person who asked, I’m 5’8” but I think the length of my torso must not be normal as I have this issue with lots of dresses 😂

OP posts:
dogsmaid · Yesterday 16:58

you might have a short torso, I do too and I’m tall

Awcw1234 · Yesterday 16:59

Oh and the material is meant to be crumpled! https://www.asos.com/prd/209993973?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

WhatToWearMilan · Yesterday 17:01

Looking at the asos pic, it's def a drop waist! It's not your torso

Overtheatlantic · Yesterday 17:01

This style is very popular?

Newmeagain · Yesterday 17:17

I think you have a great figure OP but the dress does look a bit like a fancy dress outfit. I think it’s the scalloped waist. Even the model looks a bit odd in it. Do you have any alternatives? But it’s not a terrible dress if you don’t.

pastadish · Yesterday 17:23

Did you change your mind about the jeans and top or is this another night out? Anyway the dress is nice, flat black sandals will look good with it

DetailRedacted · Yesterday 17:27

That style dress is very “in” right now. I have a couple, one red and one brown and wear them with heeled sandals but I’m not as tall as you and like a bit of extra height. You look lovely, ignore the stupid AI bot!

I agree.
