New thread. Welcome oldies and newbies.

I'm expecting this thread to be busy as we head towards both advents and autumn releases.

There's a dedicated advent thread for advent calendars here to keep up to date with reveals, waitlists etc.

You can still get a 75ml for £11 in the look fantastic mystery box - although it's only £15 anyway with the current 25% off

Has anyone ordered this? It says underneath the three options that there’s a product pool, so just wondering if it’s three random items that you receive regardless of which bundle you opt for?

I ordered it and you do get the products in the picture as well as a couple more things. I can't remember exactly what came in that box but I ordered all three boxes and got pretty much the entire list with no duplicates.

Yes I ordered two. There's a long list of products and the first third (6 or 7?) are in the first box, second third are in the second box, last ones are in the third box. I think I've got that right. I think they were on Beauty Detective and she may have listed which were in each box, I can't remember.

I got 'stockroom steals' and 'top shelf' (February and March) and I got the Gatineau and laneige water bank, which are the two items I wanted. I also got the first and last thirds of the list, so just not the stuff in the middle (Christophe robin, rituals etc)

IlovePond · 17/08/2026 20:02

Thanks for the info @SheilaFentiman I would probably go if it was free, but on the back of the JL event recently, this sounds like a poor second.

I’m also trying and failing to imagine any circumstances where a Polaroid Photo Booth opportunity wouldn’t make me look like a serial killer 😹

I am quite presentable irl, but there’s something about a booth that does me no favours! My current passport photo is a thing of horror. (I kid you not when I tell you that customs officials do a double-take when comparing real me and the nightmare that is the passport pic!)

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with CT. I think they have some really excellent products but at the same time are bit overpriced because to me they're not quite luxury beauty that commands Chanel/Dior prices.

My DS told me my passport photo looked like a prison mug shot and my driving license makes me look like I've been startled by some nameless horror. I'm many things but photogenic isn't one of them (without good lighting and a best of three approach) so I totally relate 😂😂😂

IlovePond · 17/08/2026 20:36

I feel your pain @ClutteredPalace 😹 My work picture is even worse and they refuse to change it!

SummerLimes · 17/08/2026 20:38

I agree @OvaHere although I do have a great blue toned red lipstick. One of my friends worked with CT and apparently she’s not nice - I never forget things like that !

SheilaFentiman · 17/08/2026 20:38

For years my passport photo was with unbrushed hair and no makeup, because one of the wriggling children decided not to cooperate with sitting on the stool until after I had paid, so I jumped on instead,

Whyyyyy for £6 I didn’t just get a new set, I have no clue. I blame the sleep deprivation 😀

I really wanted to love CT for a time but nothing I bought or tried wowed me. The packaging isn’t really my aesthetic anyway.

Despite ragging on the beauty wand because they appear in everything I do actually think they're really good.

One of my very favourite blushes for pale skin is this one. https://www.charlottetilbury.com/uk/product/cheek-to-chic-pillow-talk

The pressed powder is also a fave as it can fix and mattify the worst of midday t zone disasters, which makes me want to try the new loose powder.

They've also got new blushes coming which I saw in a try on video and I thought they looked really good in a blurring way.

I've never found any of their lip products that have blown me away although I did quite like the lip blush they did earlier this year. Same with eye products.

I actually had this blush and threw it out 🫣 I just couldn’t get it to blend or look right on me and I never reached for it so decided to just chuck.

I also have the Pillow Talk lipstick, which is admittedly a nice shade, and the Pillow Talk eyeliner, which is just okay. I nearly bought the Hollywood Flawless Filter a while ago but hated the bottle design so bought the LE equivalent instead.

My previous passport photo made me look like a belisha beacon after a bad box dye accident. 🙈 Im due a new one soon so I'm praying my new beauty regime shows some benefit. I'm sure these threads will put an end to my perpetual holiday shame.🤞🤞🤞

I'm the same with CT, don't like their marketing at all and think they're overpriced but I do really love several of the products. The superstar lipstick in pillow talk was my HG for many years and I recently bought a blush stick which I love. I like the beauty wands too, and the pressed powder, and I really love the recently launched lip balm/blush/stain which lives in my handbag.

It's like Snag tights (which I happily don't need any more) - love the products, hate the brand!

Another who is not a fan of the Darlings and that she is not a nice person or a brand to work for.

its almost like she tries too hard now
