3 hour train journey to “meet the team” What to wear.

I have stage 4 of an interview process next week. They want me to meet them face to face before formally offering me the role. There’s lunch and then some meetings with the team.

Because the team are spread all over the country we’re to meet in a central location which is a 3 hour train journey for me. I arrive on the day with very little time to spare before the lunch.

Really struggling with what to wear in terms of how formal to be but also something that will survive the train journey without me looking like a crumpled mess. Or should I change just before the train gets in?

I need sleeves as hate my arms and have big boobs so need something that has a waist. Any suggestions?

Personally I'd err on the cautious side and wear smart (black) trousers and a blouse as you can't really go wrong with that.
The main thing you need to worry about then is making sure your blouse gets there in one piece. I think the idea of changing when you get there is a good one, or take a spare emergency option with you in a bag of you don't want to faff with changing but still need a plan B.

It's not really an interview as such since they are then offering you the job anyway. More a formality. Lots of useful suggestions on thread. Whatever, you feel comfortable in, suitable for a train journey and the weather on the day.

Actually I agree with you. It’s not a bad idea to bring and wear a blazer/jacket to the interview. You can always take it off. Err on the side of caution.

And they don’t believe in hotels…?!?
