So did you get it down to just the clothes that fit and you feel good in so you could literally pick up any top and bottom, wear them and get on with your day?

Did you get rid of loads of stuff or was this just an organisation task?

If I pay for your flight and pick you up from the airport will you come to Leeds for the day and do my clothes like that for me Smile.

@Bjorkdidit i actually would!!🤣🤣

yeah that’s it i pretty much just have things that I can wear together no matter what (there might be a few exceptions to that)
I also have a few rules because I’m petite so if I wear a baggy pants, I generally wear some sort of fitted top and if I wear skinny jeans, I try to have a loose top. So that’s why I have several white T-shirts and several black T-shirts because they’re different neck styles and different fits. But other than that on a daily basis, I will wear jeans and a T-shirt with maybe a blazer or jeans and a cute blouse or shirt. Or trousers with a nice T-shirt. I work five days a week so most of my wardrobe is geared towards work. The rest is sports clothes like leggings and a jumper/hoodie.

If it suits you and your lifestyle, great.
I'm actually impressed by your restraint, and, looking at your shoe cubby, slightly embarrassed by mine....

Yeah, I don’t have masses of shoes currently have a pair of white sanders pair of brown sanders. I have a cream pair on the way too which I’m excited for! I have a pair of navy specials. And four pairs of converse, which are black navy and two types of green. And my black boots.
I have three pairs of heels, a nude pair, navy espadrilles and a black suede heel. Again, it’s just easy and most things can match no matter what I put it with.

Hmm, Ireland you say….?

Any chance you’re near West Cork?? 🤞🤞😂

Yorkshirewithlove · 18/07/2026 09:40

Your wardrobe looks fab. Any tips on how to organise it. I'm struggling to sort my own 😊

TakeThatAndParty81 · 18/07/2026 09:44

How did you do this? Do you have any long dresses? Did you get rid of anything? What about like summer/autumn/winter etc do you own anymore clothes?

Kitchenbattle · 18/07/2026 09:47

V neat but I'd struggle without doors. What do you do about dust?

I've half the tops and that again in dresses. I have about 4 feet of hanging space for coats. Where do you keep your shoes and bags?

I have 9 dresses in beside my jeans…most are black 🤣🤣. This is a pick of my shorts, this slides In under where my jeans hang.

I got rid of a few older T-shirts and a few worn out/stained jumpers

I’ve not noticed any dust on my clothes tbh but I have a basket under the tops with a debobbler, a roller to take of hairs etc (so I could use that for dust) and a linen spray also.

my main tip is to have a wardrobe that fits your needs. I don’t go out very often so I don’t have a lot of “going out” clothes. I work Monday to Friday but we have a smart casual policy so most of my wardrobe I can wear at work. For me it’s about not try to be something I’m not. Just wearing what I feel good and pulled together in. I don’t really do fast fashion.

Is that really ALL of your clothes? That's impressive on a minimalist scale. Wish I could be that disciplined.

Really?
I think OP has lots.

Penelopeandherpitstop · 18/07/2026 10:37

@Kitchenbattle I actually remember your post with pics of your wardrobe from a while ago OP (maybe when you first moved in and it was a new walk-in wardrobe?). I didn't comment then but you really inspired me with the colour coded organisation! And made me look at my own wardrobe and focus more on streamlining my own colour palette, and that has been great 😊

I didn't have an enormous colour range in the first place, and do have some summer dresses and jumpsuits with more colour and some prints (but I find because they're a whole outfit there's not so much of an issue with colour coordination). But I have focused on getting lots of similar tops within a specific colour palette , including some multiples of the same top, and that's made getting dressed so much better for me.

My colour palette is lots of cream and soft whites, pale and blush pink, pale blue, pale beige, taupe/mink, stripes (blue on white), navy, dark green (love this as a dark neutral and is better on me than navy but so much harder to find!), some limited black, and some printed tops within this colour palette. Bottoms are denim, navy, tan/beige, warmer pink, cream. I would like a couple of things in a brighter colour - a golden yellow for example. I do also like tops within this colour palette but with some kind of texture, like lace/broderie anglaise.

Anyway, love seeing your wardrobe - its sooo pleasing!

TheMarriageOfAirAndFrock · 18/07/2026 11:09

My wardrobe doesn’t currently need reorganising - but inevitably looking at someone else’s makes me reflect on my way of doing things.

Yours is impressively neat, but we obviously like very different types of clothes! I own one t shirt. No jeans. (Couple of pairs in storage. I often see jeans I’d wear, but then forget about them.) But the biggest difference is that most of my clothes are really quite sticky out-y - either because of cut or fabric - so each thing needs a lot of space around it on the hanger.

Coats are separate, but all my jackets are on wide shouldered wooden hangers; ironed shirts barely touch; dresses all have something voluminous about them - the knitted / ribbed ones are folded in a chest of drawers with other knitwear; even denim skirts have pleats or gathers that mean they object to being squashed against other things.

So these days I’m happier with open hanging racks, rather than a built wardrobe, as it’s easier to move things around and maybe move them close to a window to air.

(And I deeply resent any host or restaurant that expects me to use a coat hook without a coat hanger. 😂)

Yay! I love this! Brilliant! Yes I was so excited when we first moved in I had to share, I’ve lived with it for a year now and i used to fold my jeans but I just couldn’t hack it so change them to hanging. It’s so much easier. I’m all for an easy life!

It’s so beautiful and very restrained and minimal.

Mine’s a lot more light / neutral with a touch of colour - blue and green mainly and I have four double wardrobes and two sets of drawers.

Do you worry about moths eating your natural fibres? I keep all woollen coats, knitwear and hats in zipped storage to beat the hungry little buggers.

xyz127 · 18/07/2026 13:19

Think you would cry if I showed mine BlushGrin

No I would never think of this. I have never had this issue before at all.
I only have one hat 😅

Looks wonderful and so neat. It does make me realise that I have far too many clothes though. I'm going to try and pair back a bit!

Love a well organised wardrobe

burnoutbabe · 18/07/2026 16:05

I sorted mine in lockdown and kept it.

one row of hanging. Sorted into

going out silky tops -red velvet hangers
long sleeve casual -black velvet hangers
t shirts -black hangers
all these 3 sorted by colour
then black r shirts -gold hangers
the hangers all match and all face same way.
luckily all my tops are block of 1 colour so easy to sort.

Floisme · 18/07/2026 16:18

I'm glad it works for you and other posters op but it's not for me. I enjoy thinking about getting dressed.

Don’t get me wrong I think about it a little bit, like today I wore white barrel leg jeans and a taupe T-shirt, I just thought about the accessories more so I wore a black belt and my white sambas to tie it together. It looked great 🙌
