Are white or cream trainers and dresses still ok? Which ones are nice enough.g. not too clunky? Are Vejas comfy? Superga? Any others?

Good thing us converse wearers don’t care what’s in fashion! :)

I dont think Converse are out of fashion so much as being such a classic they will always look good. White Converse (or even white old school plimsolls) will always be a safe bet, even if they arent super fashionable.
I have about 8 pairs of Converse so can colour match most outfits!😁

But retro coloured trainers still seem to be popular as far as I can see. I have some nice neutral beige ones that go with lots.
I really cant do weird soles or heels though and my feet blister easily (so most types of sandals or thick soled trainers dont work). I prefer shoes that feel more like walking barefoot!

In my case because of a foot condition sandals and most shoes are not supportive enough and lead to severe ankle pain if worn more than an hour.

Me too. After ankle surgery I pretty much live in trainers or crocs or Birkenstocks, Thankfully I don’t care what anyone thinks.

Always converse.

I walked the dogs around the farm at 6 am in black Adidas trainers and a strappy dress. I’m 70 and couldn’t care less if anyone judges me on my dress sense!
ETA I wear converse or Birkenstocks if I’m not walking far, eg a supermarket trip.

I think the big floral or brightly coloured midi dresses with white trainers is a bit dated now, but I don’t think that means ‘trainers + dress’ is. I’ve seen plenty of different versions of it about on all sorts of people this year, and I work in a fairly young & ‘cool’ bit of London.

Lots of long skirts with trainers (white trainers included!) too.

I have handball Spezials in different colours and also gold and silver sambas , which in those metallic colours look quite feminine with dresses.

@YourWinter So you have zero interest in a Style and Beauty thread then! Why comment? I find the “I don’t care” comments bizarre when the op clearly wants opinions on trainers and a dress! Fashion tends to involve a certain amount of judgement and updating your look or it’s not, by definition, fashion!
