would you wear linen trousers?

HoraceCope · 08/06/2026 06:34

i was just about to suggest M & S

LaMarschallin · 08/06/2026 06:39

What sort of top are you wearing with them?
My stomach is where I carry all my extra weight, so I wear loose trousers to skim over it but wear a fitted top.

I’ve just ordered some from Ninepine that were recommended on here Ninepine. I don’t know what they’re actually like yet but they seem to fit your brief.

I love my Ninepine trousers. They are so flattering.

They wash well, don't shrink and are incredibly comfortable.

Thanks for these! I like them, but a bit out of my price range I am afraid, in particular as I already had to buy a lot of other clothes for the event.

would you wear linen trousers?

No I am afraid... I don't find them comfortable generally, and I also find that they rub through easily between the thighs

Sorry, my body only fits stretch these days... not a chance for anything else!

Oh, I hadn't spotted these yet. The only concern I have is about the top... the crinkly waist band is likely to make me look at feel really fat and frumpy. I will order some though to try out!

Oh, and have just seen no stretch... probably a no no!

My stomach is where I carry all my extra weight, so I wear loose trousers to skim over it but wear a fitted top.

I generally do it the other way round. I have some fabulous winter trousers that really tuck me in on the waist without being restrictive, and then wear wider tops. If I wear loose trousers I look like a barrel, and I hate everything wobbling.

M&S do elasticated black straight legged trousers - they were my go to for years. I can’t see them in the website (but I can never find anything in there) but might be worth shopping in person if you’re able.

atriskacademic · 09/06/2026 08:59

Sorry, jeggins don't work for me. I'd look like squeezed sausage with my stubby thunder legs!

I have had these before, but I felt that the quality has gone down. These are now my go to and I'll have to wear them if I can't find anything else, but I fear they might be too warm: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CHHWTDV2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1&psc=1
