What to wear for a garden glam and disco birthday celebration?

I need help please...

I have been invited to an amazing birthday celebration that is entitled 'An Evening of Garden Glamour and Disco'. There are cocktails and afternoon tea followed by a live big band and then a 'Disco with a Difference'. Venue is rural, think farm with events barn.

The Dress Code is 'Garden Disco Glam - English elegance meets Ibiza after dark.'

I am 5' 8" and a size 10/12, age 57 but with a mum tum so won't get away with anything bodycon or tight fitting. Budget would be around £100 but could stretch to £150 for something fabulous. Don't have big boobs but really need to wear a bra to deal with sagginess.

Can you lovely ladies suggest anything that would fit this theme as I am a bit stumped?

I think this is perfect.

I'd wear with cropped black leggings if weather isn't kind, or bare legs with fake tan if it's warm.

Ok. It’s an amazing but wide dress code! Given the disco theme I’d go with some sequins or a jumpsuit 70s disco style. Not sure if the venue means proper toilets - if not that might put paid to a jumpsuit. But you could do sequin trousers and matching top.

I do love wearing a jumpsuit because it feels glam and fun, but comfortable.

I would not go for random summer dress unless it’s something you want to buy anyway.

shoes - depends how rural but some wedge or block heel that have a platform so they’re comfortable and you can dance all night. Or just high your trainers under a long jumpsuit leg!

How about a tutu dress, with sparkly sequins on the bodice? Strappy or strapless with built in support. You could go short, midi or ankle length with the mesh net skirt, have lots of layers or just a couple. I have seen a lot of gorgeous dresses like that on Vinted.

Jump suit? Floaty trousers with a funky top? Reiss has nice stuff in at the moment and I've noticed sales in Fenwick etc.

I would wear sequin trousers and a nice top. This is my go to outfit for most pictures these days as it's so comfy.

I mean, English elegance and disco are diametrically opposed. I'd pick whichever beautiful, elegant dress/jumpsuit you love and wear this with it .

The dress would need a hint of pink in it 😁. Also, when it turns cooler in the evening, you'll be really glad of it.

just one style as an example. I had a Fumbalinas kaftan for my evening wedding dress. I felt like a queen! Bra and mum tum suitable too

ASOS have a lovely selection. Mine are a khaki colour which is easy to wear, and goes with a lot, but they have brown, silver, black and blue as well.

I assume if it's disco, then it's someone's 60th or even 70th would that be about right? I would definitely be going full on Twiggy style from the 60s early 70s. Would probably have two outfits to be honest it sounds like two different themes entirely
