Best tinted moisturiser for middle aged skin?

Any ideas? I've literally never used one before. Went into Boots and was totally overwhelmed by options... left empty handed.

I'm after something for pale skin with an SPF. My skin is pretty good, just a bit menopausal and meh. Don't mind paying up to about £20. Ish.

What would you recommend?

I feel like I've tried them all and the Nars one is far and away the best.

I’d avoid anything containing hyaluronic acid on mature skin as it’s very drying.

it shouldn’t be, it’s a humectant that draws water

FrostyMorn · 29/05/2026 19:23

Sculpted by Aimee tint and glow is great. I usually mix it into my separate face spf rather than using it 'neat', though it is spf30 (I think) itself. Gives a lovely subtle glow.

Oh my! Thanks everyone for all these great suggestions.

I didn’t even know what a CC cream was, until I started this thread. I’m 54 😂😂😂

I have ordered the eborium online - on offer and they have a handy dandy colour tool which matched theirs to the no. 7 hydraluminous foundation I use (and love - great on older dryer paler skin I find).

I am agog that I will soon be the sort of person who uses Korean skincare. Get me!

👀😁

If it’s no good, hang it all. I’m going in for Nars. Many years ago when I was a fibberdygibbet around town I used their eyeshadows and blush and loved their pigments. My bank balance is not what it was then, but a girl can pretend…

I love this Origins ginzing SPF 40 tinted moisturiser, a bit over budget, but often with 20% off at JL. Lasts ages because you only need a tiny bit. It feels lovely and zingy and looks a bit glowy

I've tried most of the ones recommended here. Nars I would not say is particularly lightweight. Better suited for warm toned skin as well. I also don't think it's very long lasting. Sculpted by Aimee is a good dupe for Trinny BFF and a lot cheaper.

Bare Minerals is a bit greasy but is great for skin.

My recent revelation is this, not a tinted moisturiser but a tinted SPF. It's light as air and the light shade is fine on my pretty pale skin. It's awesome stuff.

None of the above make me breakout which is a miracle in my difficult skin

noooooooo!!! I was happy to get Trinny off my list but it’s now gone back on!!!!! 😉

notatinydancer · 29/05/2026 20:40

Another vote for Eborium.

*erborian

jinglejanglescarecat · 29/05/2026 20:54

How are the colours/tones for erborian?? I have fairly pale skin in winter but then my freckles go mad and I tan easily in summer despite spf50.

notunreasonable · 29/05/2026 20:58

I used to use Nars which I really liked but Sculpted by Aimee hydratint was recommended to me and I have never had so many compliments on my skin. It's fabulous.

CrispyK · 29/05/2026 21:05

NARS - I’ve just run out and was very pleased to find it on offer through their website (still 25 % off at the moment, though they have run out of some lighter shades)

cupfinalchaos · 29/05/2026 21:15

I find tinted moisturiser doesn’t cover up my blemishes and thread veins. In the summer I use a spray tanning mist, then a concealer in the same shade. Looks natural.

Meadowflower2023 · 29/05/2026 21:16

I have the eborian red correct CC creme (green bottle, comes out white but changes to your face colour) and the eborian cc creme in the colour clair. I tend to use the red correct mostly for everyday use even though I don’t have red areas on my face (I have no idea why I ordered this one) but it’s so light and doesn’t need anything else adding for a fresh look… unless I’m going out out then I just add a tiny bit of concealer and blend it all together.

Aluna · 29/05/2026 22:39

I have some really expensive ones but L’Oréal Glotion is the one I use the most. No SPF but so cheap you could apply separately.

Eborian CC, No 7 City Light.

AsCoolAsKimDeal · 30/05/2026 00:27

I find Erborian and Nars come up very yellow. I like BareMinerals Complexion Rescue or Chantecaille (the best, but £££)

VivienneDelacroix · 30/05/2026 00:32

Our age group are not their target market, but I haven't found anything better on my (dry almost 50 year old) skin than the Glossier skin tint. I use Cicaplast Baume SPF underneath or an SPF mist over the top.

I just couldn’t get on with any of the Erborians, they were all just the wrong colour/tint and seemed a bit heavy. I’m quite pale and pink, with freckles and thread veins.

I absolutely love the Bare Minerals complexion rescue though! The lightest shade is an amazing match for me, and it evens out my skin tone without blanking me out. I tend to have drier skin, and it doesn’t dry my skin out.

So if you don’t get on with Erborian, I’d highly recommend the Bare Minerals. I wasted so much money trying all sorts of CC and BB creams until I finally found this.

Mysonwontwash · 03/06/2026 07:16

I also use bare minerals complexion rescue. It’s the best product I’ve ever used. I use erborian green cream on my cheeks too.

Sugarnspicenallthingsnaice · 03/06/2026 07:22

Another vote for Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. It's the only product I've ever used that has other women (including 20-somethings, and I'm 54!) asking for my skincare routine.
