Which outfit would you wear to a wedding at a country house hotel?

Dear Style gurus, Can I ask what outfit you’d wear to a wedding please, country house hotel. I’m mid 50s.

my family are divided. I think the blue dress, my husband and daughter think the khaki one, the stripy skirt and top is no one’s favourite but liked by all.

I’m torn, and I’m not usually, simply as my family don’t like the blue one and I do. I suspect as it’s not my usual style..

Blue is country house wedding though I adore the other two and I am fussy as anything. Where is the khaki one from please?

CancellingAgain · 15/05/2026 18:25

Khaki with red shoes.

And I insist you post your arm workout. I have been trying for seven weeks and cannot shift my bingo wings even a bit!

mondaytosunday · 15/05/2026 18:40

Khaki dress by a country mile! The blue looks like it belongs in a prim librarian or a five year old going to church. The khaki one looks sophisticated and elegant and suits your figure.

Is there dancing? Are you partying after the food? The khaki one suits party better. If it’s a July wedding, is velvet ok? Wraps have had their day really. I’m assuming you won’t buy a modern cropped jacket? So many around.

Khaki or blue.

Safarisagoody · 30/05/2026 11:09

Sorry just came back, Well I went with the blue and bizzarely everyone who said it wasn’t good, reacted with oh that’s really nice! I felt it was appropriate for the occasion snd venue, and was right.

the khaki one is Reiss and the other two are me and em.

@CancellingAgain , for arms.

every morning I do 3 mins of planks, which helps arms as well as core, then every other day I do total upper body weights work out, you can google one, and I lift to exhaustion, in the days I between I do rowing, just ten mins, but max resistance, as I’m more into running,

I also take creatine daily and consume enough protein.

keep going honestly it takes time, but you get there, focus on triceps to deal with bingo wings,x

How nice of you to come back! (Most people don’t.)

Definitely the right choice of frock for the context and I’m sure you looked excellent.

Specialagentblond · 30/05/2026 12:02

The khaki one looks more wow , but the blue would suit the occasion and is a little more understated.

You look great in all of them.

Thank you. Whilst I am very slim, I don’t eat enough protein. And am prob not doing enough triceps. You look amazing!

You have a stunning figure and look
fantastic in the three dresses. But it’s the blue for me!

Nopenousername · 30/05/2026 15:41

Whatever you decide to wear, you look fantastic in all of them!

Deadringer · 30/05/2026 15:42

The khaki one looks fabulous on you, the blue is very nice and sounds perfect for the occasion, the stripey one does nothing for you imo but i am probably biased because I hate it.
Edited: sorry didn't see update

fantam · 30/05/2026 15:47

The blue is a bit Little House on the Prairie.

The khaki is absolutely stunning. With gold accessories you'll rock the shop!

So my vote for the bin = stripes and flowery,

I wore the blue Me & Em one to
my niece’s wedding last summer and got a lot of compliments!

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 30/05/2026 17:41

@SafarisagoodyI think the blue would have been great. Wasn’t in Wiltshire was it?

Yes it’s really lovely in real life, I suspect the pics don’t do it justice to be honest.
