Time for another thread. Spring and Summer releases are trickling out to tempt us AND the advent calendar waitlists are appearing...hope you are all feeling suitably Christmassy. 😂

Thanks everyone who continues to contribute to the chatter and welcome to any newbies who want to join in.

I’m very tempted by the YSL perfume set and GWP but I literally have no interest in the perfume set so it’s probably not a good idea given I’d sell 90% of it!

Has anyone tried the Lip Blushers though? Particularly interested if anyone can compare them to the Violette FR Bisou Balm…

I have both the YSL lovenude and the bisou balm. I like both but I prefer the bisou balm, it has more staying power.

Not quite the Violette fr bisou balm but picked up a jelly balm from Liberty to make up the spend for the gwp and it’s gorgeous, favourite at the moment.

@namechange0998776554799000 Thank you! I didn’t think I’d find anyone who tried both but you responded so quickly! I’ll stick with the Bisou Balm.

@MrsBnow12 I haven’t tried the jelly balms yet but I have three Bisou Balms which I love. I’ll have to give the jellies a whirl the next time I’m in Oh My Cream! ☺️

@Willow742 do you still want the bag from the Harrods GWP or did you manage to get one?

I was holding out for SNK but then didn't make it to store until Saturday and they'd sold out, so I'm buying the bits I need (and some I don't) from Harrods instead. I'll use most of it and might brave Vinted for the few things I won't use.

But I doubt I'll use the bag so it's yours for the price of postage if you want it.

Which one did you get? I’m really tempted by Aissa now!

Oh my god that would be amazing! Happy to pay for it, I thought I got one on vinted for a reasonable price but they cancelled 😭

Oh no, I don't need anything for it - it would only join the pile of GWP bags under my bed which rarely get used! Just put a fiver in a charity collection or something.

I know you said you can't get PMs, but if you can PM me your email address, I'll contact you that way to arrange postage.

Thank you so much 😊 I've PM'd you (I can get them if I go on web version, it's just the app that doesn't seem to have a message function)

I went to Liberty for the first time yesterday with my sister. Such a lovely store, no chaos, no tourists, no judgy salesperson! My sister was surprised to see so many desi salesperson ! She didn't know any of the perfumes but thanks to Mumsnet I knew what to look out for! Lisa Eldridge Betty pallete was to die for, and she did fall in love with the sparkles haha ... and the fabrics section oh I wanted to roll around in them. Then we judged Victoria Beckham's design harshly, pretended to buy a 500 quid Burbery dress, almost bought a 350 quid Gucchi sunglass! Went to Oxford Circus SNK and drenched myself in all the perfumes that the friendly perfumistas thread rave about. Not a single penny spent on a whole day.of window shopping as I know better to wait for GWPs.and Kits!

OvaHere · 25/05/2026 08:42

@SavageGarden23 sounds like a fab day. It's a lovely shop to browse round.

@SavageGarden23 ive changed planes at London that's it.
Im going to venture down in a few years, mainly for liberty. Had never heard of it until seeing planning with crystal do a video on the beauty drop. Sounds amazing. 😍
I nearly added Betty palette to my lib basket the other day, but resisted.
It may end up in another one. 🤣
Sounds an amazing day. And nothing spent. Investigative visit. 😍
I go in space nk in the Trafford Centre, Such a nice atmosphere. No pushy sales people. Selfridges i find very different.

SummerLimes · 25/05/2026 10:27

Perfect day @SavageGarden23 hope you managed a cocktail or cupcake treat too.

SummerLimes · 25/05/2026 10:28

@Doglover73 you might need sedating in Liberty 😀

Bobba is my go-to London treat, as well as Chinatown Bakery visit.

Any recommendations for things that can be bought in-store at Boots? I’ve got another 5 recyclables to take in and I’ve already done three claims this month, so I’m now running out of stuff for the £10 minimum spend 😅

IlovePond · 25/05/2026 12:23

I really love going to the Chinatown Bakery @SavageGarden23

Glad you enjoyed Liberty. I really rate SNK and their staff, but I have to say I don’t really like going into Liberty myself - I find the staff stand-offish. But it is a nice building and a good opportunity to smell all those ‘niche’ perfumes that Liberty are obsessed with!

grateful3 · 25/05/2026 12:26

Can anyone recommend a tinted moisturiser they use instead of foundation on these hot day? Thanks

user593 · 25/05/2026 12:58

@grateful3 Erborian CC or NARS.

Fillybuster · 25/05/2026 13:20

@grateful3 i love IT cosmetics cc and bb creams. also a huge fan of the incredibly lightweight and cheap (yet effective) the ordinary serum foundation which they have recently re-released. And just started using Missha cc cream this weekend which has a lovely finish, but I don’t know if it’s available without placing an SK order.

I tend to get essentials like deodorant or handwash if there's nothing I really need, sometimes even chuck in a meal deal if I'm really struggling 😅 I also like to look at what's in their clearance section as there's often something decent lurking in there

Suncream would be an obvious one right now! Nude lip liner? I find their Pro Artist one pretty good. They also sell drinks, sandwiches, crisps, etc so stock up on snacks. Boxes of tissues, paracetamol, brush cleaner, hair ties.

pinkchampagne1 · 25/05/2026 14:17

So, I have resisted buying the Liberty edit but have purchased the mascara and the face cream from Vinted. I really don’t need another eye cream, cleansing balm, sleep spray or any hair products so I need to remove it from my basket don’t I?! 🤔

I bought one of the Jo Malone Zara perfumes at the weekend. The dark coloured Fashionably London one. Pretty impressed with it for £19.99

grateful3 · 25/05/2026 15:00

@Fillybuster @user593 thank you for your suggestions. I’m off to have a look!
