Time for another thread. Spring and Summer releases are trickling out to tempt us AND the advent calendar waitlists are appearing...hope you are all feeling suitably Christmassy. 😂

Thanks everyone who continues to contribute to the chatter and welcome to any newbies who want to join in.

Hilarious, received the pudding cloche it is tiny! I thought it was a cake stand 😂 That’s why you should never fill a basket in a rush. My kids think I should still keep it for cheese. 17cm Diameter. https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/pudding-cloche-R661585006.html I can’t really return it without forfeiting the £100 discount so not sure what I’ll do

IlovePond · 18/05/2026 16:03

Very cute @BakeOffRewatch - could you give it to someone as a present? Or, if you could get to Liberty, do an exchange?

Can you use it when serving yourself one of those Gu ramekin puddings, just to be fancy?

I use the Phillips IPL - I bought the cheapest model, because I wasn’t convinced it would work.

It has worked! It takes a while at first to get to the stage where you have no hair regrowth, but now I’m at the stage where I have a couple of very small
slightly stubborn patches (on my knees - think they are too knobbly to get good contact!) that I do every month or so, and which takes about 5 mins, but apart from that my legs and underarms are hair free!

I go over my whole legs and underarms maybe once every 6 months max, just in case.

I love it mainly because now when we get a short burst of good sunny weather, I can wear skirts/dresses etc without tights, without thinking “oh bother, I’ll have to shave my legs first”. It means I wear much more of my summer wardrobe!

if I ever had to rebuy, now I know it works on me, I would 100% buy a slightly more expensive model, just because mine is quite small and so it takes longer when doing a large area.

You’ve convinced me to dig out one I purchased a few years ago and I’ve never even opened the box because I chickened out after installing the app.

Hi happy belated birthday @OvaHere . Glad you had a lovely birthday.

has anyone else noticed that space nk have paused the limitless postage pass due to upgrades in the warehouse, it means now you have to spend 25.00 to get free 3 to 4 day postage

I’m not sure whether to get the harvey nicols gwp, the Harrods one looks like it has more things I would use but it’s a higher spend. I would use most of the Harvey nicols gwp. But then I like the look of both cult beauty edits

SummerLimes · 18/05/2026 17:41

@BakeOffRewatch possible to exchange?
or do a new order and return the first one ?

OvaHere · 18/05/2026 17:53

@Lonely12 Thanks.

I haven't tried to order from SNK in a while so hadn't spotted the Limitless Pass issue.

I really appreciate the staying power I get from a decent setting spray on their own days when i leave for the office at 7am, and head straight to the gym after work. The Nyx workout proof spray is pretty close to bulletproof!
edited to add: nothing is going to survive a really sweaty cardio session, mind, but it does mean I arrive looking fairly decent and leave looking semi human if it’s just weightlifting. I also still go out clubbing on a fairly regular basis, and, again, a good setting spray makes a big difference!

Edited

I’m going to get it as well as I just find the CT one does anything .

I like the MAC Fix + that was in one of the recent Jarrolds edits.

In my next empties when I get around to posting them is a TirTir Waterproof one. I thought that was good too.

I'm trying to use up my full size CT as it's okay but not my favourite so I keep abandoning it for others. I like that you can get it in a travel size though. One of the reasons I'm sort of interested in the CB edit. I took the MAC away with me last week but taking large bottles for travelling is a pain.

@MrsBnow12I also recommend Philips Lumea and it doesn’t have to be the latest model but definitely has to be plug in not cordless. The best money I ever spent.
Keep an eye on Amazon because they usually include some models in their seasonal big sales (like Thanksgiving, Black Friday etc).
Also you can shave between treatments so that’s useful.
It is not recommended to use it if you are going in the sun to avoid hyperpigmentation. Best as a winter treatment.
I bought a Boots own version when IPL just started years ago and it did work but it was a bit of a faff with a conductor gel and didn’t stick to it properly to do everything. I considered Lumea for nearly 3 years before I decided to buy one because they are not cheap and, after all, I had the old Boots version but it was my fault for being lazy and stick with it. Zero regrets.
For some reason, my underarms area took many tries and, then, all of a sudden, the treatment started working.

Talisin · 18/05/2026 18:14

I certainly hope SNK extends everyone’s Limitless Pass by the number of days/weeks it’s out of action. I was stung by this a few days back but didn’t know why it wasn’t working.

user593 · 18/05/2026 18:37

@Lonely12 I complained to SNK about this a couple of days ago as I wanted to place an order. Unfortunately their T&Cs give them the ability to suspend it basically whenever they like for whatever reason. I’m not sure I’ll renew it after this.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 18/05/2026 19:09

Pondering an order on SNK as any Rodial purchase gets GWP 200ml bee venom body serum. Do I truly believe my future self has the discipline to apply serums to my whole body when I have yet to achieve a consistent routine with my face?

MrsBnow12 · 18/05/2026 19:15

Thanks all for your IPL recommendations, I will do some research on the brands and devices mentioned.

They told me if I ordered and provided the order number they would refund the charge. Although still 3/5 day delivery time. They also told me they expect their systems to be back up in the next couple of days so I decided to wait.

LouScot · 18/05/2026 19:52

While I remember, with the Space NK pass chat, face the future have their annual delivery pass available for £5 on the app. I bought with the "budget" mystery bundle as I think it's got the Ful styling cream I like (bargain 7.99 if it is !) Will hopefully save me making random £30 orders to get free posting when I just want to try something cheap!

MotherofTerriers · 18/05/2026 19:57

ooo please post what the budget mystery bundle is - I'm tempted!

I'm not a makeup pro, but I always make sure that the primer and foundation are the same base, so either water or silicon. I never mix. I stamp my foundation on my face with a brush, I don't push it around. I then use a damp beauty blender, I brush off the excess foundation onto the top of the blender then lightly tap in the foundation. I then spray my face lightly with setting spray, only 3 or 4 sprays in an x, take a fluffy brush and lightly put setting powder on and press into my face (not the nose, just forehead and cheeks). I then take a powder puff put a tiny bit of setting powder on, which I warm on the back of my hand, I then use that on my nose and around my mouth. I use Mac, Charlotte Tilbury, huda and Tarte setting sprays. I've just bought the new Dior setting spray, I'm hoping it's good 🤞🏻

Thanks for this. My routine is similar, however, now I think about it I do tend to brush foundation down my face rather than dab it with the brush (I do dab with the beauty blender afterwards).
I also stopped using powder for a while, so I’m now wondering if it’s this that’s affecting the longevity. I did add the CT pressed powder to my Harrods basket but I’m yet to process the order.

OvaHere · 18/05/2026 21:03

Thanks. I think I will get one. It's still close enough to my birthday for an extra pressie. 😂

I've yet to submit my Harrods order too 😱

I love the CT pressed powder. I use loose powder when I first apply but CT pressed goes everywhere with me. It's perfect when oils come through and the T zone starts looking iffy mid way through the day. It patches it all up almost as good as new.

@Thelifeofawife

There's not many things I hit pan on quite quickly but this is one of them.

They do have talc in them just in case that's an issue. Due to the new rules around talc coming in soon in Europe I have a feeling they might reformulate so I have a few back ups I've picked up when there's been 20% off.

Oh wow! We keep saying about beauty detective being on this chat... well puts tin foil hat on I posted the link to that ysl set on here an hour and a half ago and she's posted it on her stories 15 mins ago. I never received a notification, I only found it because I saw a acqua di Parma set on Harrods that I'd seen on tkmaxx a few days ago, so I googled 'tkmaxx perfume set' and the YSL was one of the options. So maybe BD is on here after all 👀🤓

Ps, turns out the acqua Di Parma set wasn't the same one 🤣
