What to wear to a classy London bottomless brunch

So I’m going to a bottomless brunch in London. Looks quite classy but I have no idea what to wear! Travelling a couple of hours and using tube etc so want something comfy on feet preferably but want to look nice! Any ideas?!

No bottomless brunch is ‘classy’! No one dresses up in London anyway. Smart jeans, nice top, white jacket, good accessories that look expensive. Scarf. Perfect.
Shoes. Decent trainers may be fine unless it’s the Ritz, Savoy, Claridges, Dorchester but I don’t think they do bottomless brunches 😁

Wrong. And wrong again. OP where are going exactly?

Either as second person says or a nice midi mini dress. You can get comfy footwear at Next or that Danish brand (forget name). I’d probably leave off trainers if it’s a classy place.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 07/05/2026 09:23

Do you want cotton so you don’t sweat on tube? If so then I’d say a short jacket or blazer and maybe a light cotton scarf in case it’s breezy. If you want to be on trend Zara and other places have polka dot jackets. Or there was a thread on SAB yesterday with some nice jackets.

DD goes for bottomless brunch in Mayfair, Kensington etc and only ever wears trainers, jeans and a nice top. No one dresses up. This is London in 2026.

It depends. I’ve been to bottomless brunches in west end and not dressed up and dressed as your DD does, but have also been to them in Beckenham (near where I live) and you definitely dress up! Night out clothes or as I did last time a nice midi dress and heels. The latter goes for all ages too.

Paveparadiseputupaparkinglot · 07/05/2026 09:45

I said classy as in it isn’t some grimey garage place (although I’d equally enjoy that!) thanks for input though :-)

I’ve just googled what to wear to this in London and jeans and a nice top are one option, plus satin midi skirt, stylish jumpsuit, mini dress and co ords. High end spots it says tailored trousers, blazers and midi dresses rather than jeans.

Saw a woman in trainers at the table next to me for lunch at the Ritz recently. My date tried to take his blazer off and was asked to put it back on.

Plasticdreams · 07/05/2026 12:38

I do Bottomless Brunches quite regularly in London and there aren’t many classy places that do them. Perhaps the Ned? That’s nice, but you can dress down or up for that.

I’ve seen people in mega casual outfits and dressed up to the nines - it’s totally how you feel. The average person dresses down with trainers but you don’t have to do that. I do whatever I’m feeling on the day.

BrightMintTea · 07/05/2026 12:43

Honestly most London brunches are more smart casual than super dressy 😊 I’d wear something comfy but put together. Maybe nice trousers/jeans with a cute top and smart trainers or loafers if you’re travelling on the tube. No one wants to be walking round London in painful heels for hours 😂

PeacheyPeach · 07/05/2026 12:45

How about wide leg trousers and a waistcoat kind of look, slip a pair of flats on and then put some heels on just before you get to the venue z

I am a Londoner and people don’t tend to wear heels during the day, unless it’s something like a wedding or they have come to London from elsewhere!

ArtAngel · 07/05/2026 12:55

Yeah, not heels.

Align yourself to the rest of your group rather than your idea of the venue.

GingerLeopard · 07/05/2026 12:55

I'd do either a co-ord trousers and top, or just nice jeans and a top, either with trainers or ballet flats, which are everywhere again right now. Maybe a printed jean, leopard or otherwise, then you could do a plainer top. Two people further up have suggested scarves, which seems an odd choice for a bottomless brunch to me!

msmillicentcat · 07/05/2026 12:58

I went to a fancy bottomless brunch at Quaglinos in Mayfair and it was for a friend’s birthday and we all
got properly dressed up and so were a lot of other people there. So I guess it depends where you’re going and what the occasion is.

toodisorganisedforschool · 07/05/2026 13:03

Outfits for occasions like this in London seem to be influenced more by the general vibe of the group you’re going with and / or what you’d wear for the same thing in your home town, rather than the fact that it’s a London venue. I can tell who is from out of town / who isn’t when I go out. Not in a bad or judgy way, but because Londoners will most often be on the more casual side. How do you normally dress for things like this? What are you comfy in?

Owly11 · 07/05/2026 13:06

Bottomless brunches are not classy. And Londoners don't dress up. Wear whatever you feel good in.

Franpie · 07/05/2026 14:06

I can’t think of a classy bottomless brunch.

I did go to one many moons ago in Nobu, Shoreditch which is probably about as fancy as you’ll get for that sort of thing but it was still filled with hen parties and the like.

Just wear whatever you feel nice in OP. That’s the best thing about London, everyone just wears whatever they want to wear whether that’s super dressy or super casual.

If you’re going to one of those Gloria places that are all over town now then from my observations of the queues, I believe the dress code is akin to a night out in Ibiza (despite it being 11:30 on a Saturday morning!)

True but I am comparing them to Beckenham which is a bit Essex in style! My favourite view was driving and stopping at lights seeing a young woman in short skirt and heels mid afternoon half cut (drunk) staggering across the crossing in heels from a known bottomless brunch venue. 🤣

Not classy but loads of fun. 🤩

I used to go to Quags back in the day. Must look out for bottomless brunches there.

Any time I go to west end and I I want to wear heels I wear ballet flats and change into heels once there.
