As per the title, I’m just looking for inspiration and interested to see what people are buying.

The last thing I bought was a pair of board shorts, neither stylish or beautiful, but practical.

Mom jeans, yellow tshirt, a hoodie, pair of black converse. Trying not to buy much as im waiting on my new wardrobes to be delivered but my entire wardrobe needs updating.

openended · Yesterday 07:55

I haven't bought any clothes since the start of the year for me. I have purchased an Lv speedy 25 though. Im trying to make more considered purchases and think of the cost per wear and also how items would work with existing prices in my wardobe.

I'm in Scotland and where I am is particularly windy even though the weather has been warm recently so I've still been wearing light knits.

In terms of a summer wardrobe I do need tan sandals, chocolate brown sandals, perhaps some new flats in white, white wide leg linen trousers, a linen coord for travelling (airport), butter yellow and sage green shirt that I can layer over a vest top. I'd quite like a white skirt that is not see through but that is proving hard to find. Otherwise 2 or 3 dresses that could work for evening meals out would be good for on holiday. I also need some sunglasses. I'd like a denim jacket or mini trench.

A coat and 2 pairs of cropped white trousers off Vinted plus a pair of straight legged jeans and a suede-look trench coat from Zara

I desperately need some tops for Spring/summer but not having much success

Which sort of tops do you like? My go to for cheap on trend is Tu, Zara. Tu do great basic t shirts.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · Yesterday 07:57

Has anyone seen any nice white stretch jeans lately? Not so much for me but for my DM. She’s got a slight pouch but is a 12. She mentioned she’d like some ages ago.

Marmalademorning · Yesterday 07:58

I’ve been decluttering my wardrobe a lot just lately because I had too many clothes from years and years ago most of which didn’t fit me anymore and we’re outdated and didn’t or didn’t suit me so I’ve donated loads and loads of bin bags full of clothes to charity, but I have replaced them with a couple of really nice items from shops like Hobbs some of the things I’ve bought I’ve been the Nita linen shirt I bought it in white pale blue and a darker blue. I’ve also bought three pairs of Hobbs cropped linen wide leg trousers. I think they will go with a lot of things. I thought it bought two really good quality thick T-shirts from crew clothing company one in White and a navy one. I will say look on Vinted from time to time and you can get some real good bargains on there for example I bought a pair of the green lily wide leg linen trousers from Hobbs recently the sizing on those is really big. I’ve got them in an eight and they were too big and the size sixes were sold out online. I’ve got them in the sale but they were still about £72 reduced from £89. I just happen to take a look on Vinted and I saw a pair of size 6 ones they had been listed for eight months so they must’ve brought this star back again. I bought them on Vinted for £10 so my size 8 are going back to the store today. It’s always worth taking a look on Vinted. The Vinted ones arrived last week and they look brand-new and are identical to the other ones I bought.

I have 5 pairs of Tu barrel jeans (some 10, some 12, some short and some regular) and I think 3 were 70% off!

They’re such good value! I would buy the M&S ones but Sainsbury’s is nearer to me or I do click and collect.

Marmalademorning · Yesterday 07:59

Excuse all my typos. I now use voice to text on my phone when I write posts on here because it’s quicker.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · Yesterday 08:01

If anyone’s after nude bralettes I got a great one from Tu. wore it back to front at first! 😳

What I'm trying to buy are jeans from M&S !
I don't want carrot, banana, Mum etc.
A simple high-rise, slim leg, that doesn't have frayed edges.

Per Una Jeans

I bought these the other week, the fit is nice, the colour is more faded that I'd hoped for but I kept them anyway.

M&S Eva Bootcut jeans. I feel like Rachel Green in them.

Nobody’s Child capris and a few of their floaty dresses.

Tortoise shell flat Mary Jane’s - Dune. Very comfy and a little bit different.

I’ve been coveting this jacket for a few weeks after trying it on in the shop and saw it went on sale today so I snaffled it up. Just not sure what I have to go with it, but I love it .

That’s absolutely gorgeous 😍What do people think about Anthropologie generally? I’ve always felt their homeware, while undoubtedly pretty, is basically IKEA at about three times the price. I can’t afford the clothes anyway, but they do have some eye catching stuff. Is the brand style over substance, or are the clothes better than the homeware?

I got this skirt but it hasn't been warm enough to wear it yet.

https://viverelondon.com/collections/skirts/products/fleur-stripe-skirt?variant=55924930183554

Also a navy cotton midi skirt with a white trim from H&M and a grey half-sleeved top with a sort of draped bit over the shoulders, same. I needed something shorter to go with high-waisted wide-leg trousers that also provided a bit of upper arm coverage, and it was surprisingly difficult to find anything that really fitted the bill, but H&M usually has what I need!

Women's Long Buttoned Skirt in Green Stripe

Made with 86% sustainable and hypoallergenic Lyocell, the Fleur Stripe Skirt is soft, breathable and moveable. This long skirt features concealed buttons running down the central seam, and flowing side panels for a chic a-line silhouette.

Oh, & three new cushion covers, made from vintage satinised cotton & velvet, which are really pretty! (Yes, I love green ...)

Ooh, love these! May I ask, where from?

ACIGC · Yesterday 08:25

A navy blue jacket from Superdry. Superdry seems rather hated on MN but I was in the store and it was the exact colour and style I'd been looking for.

I'm really struggling this year! I hate all the trouser shapes - yesterday I was in Sainsbury's and actually laughed out loud at a pair of geometric print balloon trousers - they looked quite ridiculous, especially with the matching top!! I want a white cotton/linen embroidered tunic top with long sleeves (have large bursitis 'golf balls' on both elbows) and cannot find one! I'm also fed up with shoes - I have wide and painful feet and must have ordered and sent back at least 10 pairs over the last couple of months. Have tried cheap and expensive and they are all the same - just can't get them on! Sorry for long moan!

After reading this thread I just bought a pair of these fishermen sandals in the sales. I bought a pair in silver metallic for £69 reduced from £95.

You lot are a bad influence I tell you!

https://www.moshulu.co.uk/collections/womens-fisherman-sandals

I also bought some in tan

PennyPorchetta · Yesterday 08:44

@PistachioTiramisu I am not sure about many of the shapes out there right now.

I'm a fan of Autograph at M&S quality generally and seem to buy quite a bit from there, I've got an order incoming which contains these, but they look very full so I'm not sure I expect to love them. Also ordered this because I thought it might look nice with the trousers and jeans.

@EleanorMc67 if your shoes are just ‘too tight’ rather than actually completely the wrong size, your local cobbler should be able to stretch them for you. (Nb not guaranteed to work if they’re really too small. Ask me how I know …)

For myself: lipsticks from Westman Atelier and Dries van Noten. And I’m just starting to wear the white moccasins I bought for pennies in the Grenson winter sale. Very pleased with myself.

Peony1985 · Yesterday 09:41

I bought a pair of clumpy white leather slip ons from Next. On sale for £19
Then returned them as neither clumpy or “white trainers” are fashionable this summer.

Then re bought them as they are leather, comfortable and bargainous. Also Russell and Bromley are selling the same style for £220.

I will style them out.

Peony1985 · Yesterday 09:43

@MetaDaughter I nearly bought some in the Grensons sale. They were reduced to less than the price of high street shoes.
I don’t need anymore interesting shoes though so restrained myself.

Saw them at an airport (passenger walked by wearing them) and thought they looked comfy to fly in; they’re alright, not blown away.
