I live in Ireland and I think they would be looked on now as dull and dated.
All the Josephines and Vincents I know / knew would be in their late 70s, 80s, 90s or dead.
I like Fred and Mary’s other choices of Christian and Isabella though.

Common in Irish families in my generation. My 2 cousin Vincents are 67 and 70. The Josephines are mid 60s.

I think both need a cool retro comeback. I have a name considered old lady chic on mumsnet....I have always hated it!
Im reconsidering Meghans olive shift dress. My daughter who is quire dark skinned had a tshirt bought in an emergency as a teenager and it looked really good. Maybe it didn't photograph well..

Names just come in and out of fashion. Some that as a child I associated with characters in Victorian fiction are now commonplace, although I've yet to meet a Dorcas.
