Marionette filler before and afters for those considering

So having done lots of research and read a few helpful threads on here, I finally took the plunge and got filler in my marionette lines. I’m thrilled by the result! And I thought for anyone contemplating it a blow by blow account might be helpful.

I opted for numbing cream and had it applied an hour beforehand. My injector used a cannula which meant only one injection site on each side and no bruising. She was very gentle and it was honestly almost pain free save for a couple of pinches. Used 1ml of filler in total and apparently should last c9 months. If I’d known how straightforward and comfortable it was going to be I would have done it years ago!

pics are immediately before and two days after so still slightly swollen - apparently in a week it should be totally settled. Line areas feel slightly firm but nothing intrusive.

Looks great, OP.

Can I ask how much it cost and how longs it’s likely to last?

Lostsadandconfused · 16/04/2026 11:06

Great result.

HollyhockDays · 16/04/2026 11:07

Looks good

BeSnugEagle · 16/04/2026 11:08

Looks great. I will be doing this soon. Can you tell me where the filler was put in. I think the nurse I will be going to puts it into the cheekbones for marionette lines.
Also could you tell me how much it cost.
So glad it went well for you.

WhosGotTheKeysToMyBimma · 16/04/2026 11:09

That downturn of your mouth at the corners has totally gone hasn't it. Looks great.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 16/04/2026 11:11

DaisyMayBojangles · 16/04/2026 11:17

I would love to do this.. looks great OO.

can i ask how much you paid? I’m in London so imagine it will be more expensive here.

JacCharlton · 16/04/2026 11:17

looks very natural - happy you're pleased

user1497787065 · 16/04/2026 11:17

Does the lower cheek swelling disappear? I can see a slight difference but the cheeks look a little hamster like currently.

RobinEllacotStrike · 16/04/2026 11:20

It does look good.

What happens to the filler though - where does it go?

A friend of mine has been using filler for years and her face is all lumpy now - the filler doesn't go away it has just moved to other random places on her face & is very noticable.

honeylulu · 16/04/2026 11:22

It looks nice. Your mouth has definitely lifted and your skin looks smoother.

I hope you don't mind me saying so but you have lovely shaped lips!

BillieWiper · 16/04/2026 11:26

Looks really good. You've got really nice shaped lips with that very strong cupids bow! 😍

harriethoyle · 16/04/2026 11:26

So it costs £262 including a follow up appointment and should last for 9-12 months.

@BeSnugEagle she made the entry hole for the cannula just under the side of my lips, and then fanned the product in a sort of wedge shape to either side and under the lines. So a shape like a trivial pursuit piece!

Yes @user1497787065 the swelling goes after a week and this is after 2 days - apparently this filler inflates as it takes on moisture and then gradually settles down over the week after the procedure.

Thanks @honeylulu my DM always said that they were the things she was proudest of making in me 😆

Eeek @RobinEllacotStrike I hope I avoid that although I don't intend to become a filler junkie 😂

I agree, it does look good but who knows where it will all end up. They all say it just disolves but it doesn't, it just move around. A friend of mine has also done cheek fillers for years, her fillers ended up in her jowls giving her a bulldog cheeks basically. I remember seeing a picture of someone that they had scanned and the fillers were still floating around in all the wrong places. I think you can dissolve them using needles and basically sucking the filler out again if it goes very wrong but sometimes that's hard to do if it's small amounts everywhere. I guess that's why some people get pillow face. Even Jennifer Aniston had that for a while.

From what I have heard, fat grafting is a better option as you are not injecting foreign substances and it doesn't migrate.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 16/04/2026 11:36

looks good!

but as a pp said: can you please post a picture with you smiling? Thanks! :)

harriethoyle · 16/04/2026 12:05

Argh I don’t really like my smile but will oblige for the greater good 🤣 I’ve tried to find a pre filler photo for comparison too
