Handbag that’s a rucksack type for a laptop

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for this type of bag. I’ve got to pop into London about once or twice a month for work and don’t want to take a separate handbag and laptop bag but also want to be rather “hands free” for tube etc. so thinking a rucksack type laptop bag that doubles as a handbag. Any suggestions?

there are plenty of rucksacks available with padded laptop sections. I have one from North Face.

but a rucksack which will carry a laptop is not a handbag. Most “handbags” will not fit a laptop, so it’s one or the other. I don’t see how there can be one product that fits both purposes.

if you need a handbag and a rucksack/laptop bag just put your handbag in the rucksack with the laptop. That’s what I usually do when travelling.

I have a backpack from July & it's great. Mine is more of a regular backpack with a laptop sleeve, but this one is more stylish.

The one that everyone bought a couple of years ago is the Knomo Beauchamp because it looks a bit like a handback, black with gold hardware. It's an absolute tardis of a bag, very definitely a rucksack rather than a handbag though.

The Ava black leather backpack from Fatface fits a 14 inch laptop and is like a handbag. I have just bought one for trips into London as you describe and it’s worth looking at. Very nice soft leather

I'm a teacher and I have this. Not really a handbag but it fits a laptop and my A4 diary plus all the other gubbins that I take in and out of school! Slightly nicer than a standard 'practical' rucksack.

I saw loads of these in Hong Kong recently, but can't see any good ones online. You want a 2 in 1 or convertible bag.

I used to have a tote and I realised I was getting pain and numbness in my hand on and off. It was when I was on the train into London one day I realised it was caused by the way I was carrying a tote over one arm. I went to Oliver Bonas in the train station, checked my laptop fitted in the rucksack style bag and bought it there and then and have used it even since.

Radley make these, I have two. They easily fit my laptop and can be held as a handbag or used as a backpack. I use the smart leather versions so that they look ok for work

I've had my one (an Elina) for 2.5 years, battered it about daily, spilt coffee in it, overstuffed it etc - still looks brand new! Nice and smart for work, converts to a tote if you need it!

Gregory Maya 20l and keep your wallet and phone in the pockets on the hip belt. It's not sold as a laptop bag, but I find that my laptop fits nicely into the pocket intended for a hydration bladder.
