What colour tights and shoes would work with this Toast dress?

This Toast dress has narrow mid-blue and dark blue stripes and I'm at a bit of a loss about what colour tights and shoes to wear with it please while it's still a bit chilly out. When it's warmer I'll be able to wear it with either my Birkenstock Boston clogs in tobacco brown or else maybe red mary janes but what about a shoe choice with tights please? And I think the tights should be navy but .not certain. Thank you for any advice.

Navy tights. I wear M&S navy heatgen tights with dresses through winter and still atm, very comfy with good stretch and keep their shape. No saggy gusset! £10.

I don’t think it’s a dress that invites visible tights … It’s presumably long enough for there to be no leg showing with knee high boots (so you could wear whatever you wanted beneath). To me it’s a dress to be worn with chunky mid calf boots with a couple of inches of sock showing at the top. Or clogs / mules - again with socks.

Sheer tights would be the wrong vibe. Woolly tights perhaps at the start of autumn - but it’s really a warm weather dress.

I do have knee length boots but they're a sort of oxblood colour and I don't think they really go. I have navy wooly tights and I could wear those with the Birkenstock Boston clogs or with black mary janes perhaps.

I have a similar dress that I wear with White Stuff navy cotton tights and brown knee high boots.

It is nowhere near warm enough for me to air my legs yet!!!

It’s April! Does anyone need thick winter tights or boots right now? Me - I’d wear light grey tights and loafers. Or low sling backs if not raining.

I think it needs heavier shoes to balance it. A pair of tan Derbies would be nice. I’d probably go for invisible nudge tights or black. Grey or navy wool/cashmere mix tights with brown loafers or brogues. Your Birkenstock clogs would look nice. I have similar Toast dresses that look good with loafers (smart) or Blundstone clogs (casual) in the winter or sandals in the summer. I’m not a fashionable person, so I tend to wear with big cardigans or a navy utility jacket (also from Toast, some time ago).

I live in the south west of UK and it’s been 10• here all weekend with frequent hailstorms. I need- nay DEMAND- continued access to my thick tights and boots 🤣

I agree. Far from thinking opaque navy tights are are wrong I think knee boots are wrong.

It's exactly as you say - a Little House on the Prairie dress. It needs Docs, Lanx, Joseph Cheaney lace up ankle boots.

What's wrong with navy tights? Tights aren't my thing but I wear leggings most days and more often than not navy ones. They go better with most of my dresses.

OP, It would work with black, dark grey or navy opaque tights. My preference is navy and brown boots, black boots if wearing black or grey tights, either knee high or mid calf.

I’ve got that dress I’ve worn it with brown loafers and red socks , brown jumper over the top . It’s long on me . I’ve been contemplating having it made into a shirt and separate skirt as I don’t wear it often .
