Best daily SPF

Hit me up with your best daily SPFs recommendations! I’m looking for true spfs which are ideally easy on my bank account.

I had a skin cancer removed from my face earlier this year which was a fright as I have used daily moisturiser with Spa since my early 20’s and factor 50 when on holiday. However I am fair skinned and have been sunburnt in the past. My dermatologist recently said that SPFs in moisturisers are no good as you’d need a really thick layer for them to provide true protection and I should use a specialist SPF daily. She was not able to recommend as apparently not alllowed….

The internet is saturated with products claiming to contain SPF - I just don’t know what to believe anymore! Can anyone recommend a product that I can use daily in UK over (or under) makeup and not end up looking greasy etc?

The most important thing medically is that it protects against UVA and UVB. Eg the Garnier invisible, or the Nivea.

I love Heliocare. I didn’t know they did spf 100! I use spf 50 but looking for 100 now

Do you use it by yourself?

I have used La Roche Posat for years now. Wish I’d been more clued up in my 20’s though as have a few age dpots on my face now

I recommend any of the Tropic ones, protects my skin and is chemical free.

I use MooGoo zinc based suncream as I've got sensitive skin and it works.rrally well.

Everyone seems to like the Beauty of Joseon spf, I’ve been using it recently (the rice one) but find it’s not hydrating enough and pills. My favourite is still the ultra Violette supreme screen. I’m looking for a cheaper alternative though.

Aldi have a dupe of the ultra violette supreme screen at the moment for 3.99. I’ve bought 3, it’s not exactly the same but a good enough dupe for me

You should use a non spf moisturiser first, let it dry and then the spf on top. That would solve the “not hydrating enough” issue I’d have thought.

Yes I do, the spf is an extra layer. My skin’s just quite dry.

LRP tinted 50+.

I've never bothered as my skin doesn't need much hydration as it can get quite oily. Do what works for your skin.
I use a barrier cream on a night which is enough hydration for the next 24 hours along with the LRP spf on a morning.

Most of the Korean facial sunscreens are good, I usually use Klairs or Thank You Farmer. They will all last the same amount of time as your regular body sunscreen so need reapplying through the day, the solid sticks are great for this (BoJ do a very good stick).

It's incredible how long it lasts as well. My little bottle has lasted for over 3 months. Maybe I'm not using enough !!

Roaccutane · 22/05/2026 12:08

I really rate cereve facial moisturising lotion AM spf 50...I take roaccutance so my skin burns very easily and is also very sensitive due to dryness. Cereve gives me great protection while being easy on my skin - and doesn't stop it breathing like others I've tried.
Doesn't look greasy, affordable, can buy in boots etc

outerspacepotato · 22/05/2026 12:19

Beauty of Joseon currently. I like Japanese or Korean sunscreens.

How big’s the bottle? A 50ml bottle would only contain 40 1.25ml face applications (not even including neck).
