Starting this thread ahead of the Oscars today. Let’s love or criticise the fashions and not the bodies wearing it.

I am think we will see a lot of Dior on the red carpet either archival or custom based on the latest Jonathan Anderson collection shown at Paris.

It might have been the Hamnet director, I can't find the pic but it was on vogue and definitely unusual x

Yes, I think that was Chloe Zhao. I kind of love her, though Hamnet was a bit meh, so she can dress in Victorian mourning if she wants!

Oh yes, thank goodness for Chloe Zhao! Quite a change from a few years ago when she used to collect her awards in a jumper and beanie.

And then slightly later she looked like she’d just thrown on a ballgown on her way from one set to another, which I loved.

Anna Wintour demonstrating an actual sense of humour —who knew?

Paul Mescal. Paul, you’re a nice, nice man, but what is going on sartorially tonight???

Oh dear Gwyneth. Awful dress that just looks way too ‘ look at me, look at me’….

BeaLola · 16/03/2026 02:12

I’m a little underwhelmed as compared to past years there’s not many I love, although Rose Byrne & Kate Hudson looked great and Wunmi .

I think Jessie’s is the best look I’ve seen on her & I like the concept just not convinced on that red across the pink - perhaps it’s that the “satin” band is so thick compared to the floaty skirt ?

I was disappointed in Sigourney Weaver as she usually looks great but there was something off about her dress.

Stickytoffeetartt · 16/03/2026 02:32

Wow. Kate Hudson & Anne Hathaway are my best dressed 😍

Britpopbaby · 16/03/2026 07:11

Elle Fanning
Kate Hudson
Emma Stone
Joe Alwyn

All won in my eyes. All in all I think it was very pared back.

I'm just wondering given current middle east situation maybe they all pared things back a bit?

I've never seen so many feathers on Oscars dresses before! I think there were a couple of clunkers, and I don't like the hip cut outs. But overall I thought the red carpet was wonderful this year.

Rose Byrne, Demi Moore, Anne Hathaway, Wunmi Mosaku, Jesse Buckley and Teyana Taylor were my standouts.

Delroy Lindo looked fabulous as always. Ditto Michael B Jordan. Chalamet not so much. And Pedro Pascal looked like he'd left his jacket in the taxi. (Maybe I'm just bitter because I'm not a fan of his new clean-shaven look and I want the old look back)

HollyhockDays · 16/03/2026 18:14

Jessie Buckley looked great in both her dresses.
Rose Byrne was stunning. So beautiful.
Kate Hudson also good.

Heidi Klum’s dress didn’t fit and Gwynneth’s would have been better without the sheer panels.

Nice to see Anna Wintour poking fun at herself!
