I’ve wanted this for a year or so now but don’t know where to go, I’m up North. I know people go to Faceland, but I’m not going that far!
Anykne had it done, are you happy with it? Stitches or strips?

There’s a support group on Facebook. Also a UK one. I’ve heard good things about coppergate clinic in York. Go to an oculoplastic not a general!

PersephoneParlormaid · 13/03/2026 12:16

Yes, I’ve heard good things about them too but it’s a bit of a trek there if I’ve got to go for a pre op assessment, then the op, then stitches out.
I’ve seen people say it’s better to go for stitches.

I had it done last year in the UK. Cost £3500.

i’m pleased with the results but don’t know if I’d bother again - it is surgery, it’s bloody and brutal. I had stitches with steri strips on top to protect the wound- I don’t think strips only is an option.

i was surprised by how long it took me to feel ok - i felt exhausted for a week, was ok to do gentle exercise after 2. Had to sleep upright for 3 nights though some people are advised to go for longer. Swelling for first few nights meant my eyes didn’t close fully. I was bruised for 2 weeks. Stitches were out after a week.

i had dry eyes for months after (not usual).

I’m 5 months post surgery now and fully healed. There is a very faint scar if you know what you’re looking for.

FannyBawz · 13/03/2026 12:38

I did it. I look hot as hell now, it’s taken a good few years off my coupon.

I went to Liverpool

CanaryLibra · 13/03/2026 12:48

I had mine done about 3 years ago. It cost just over 3k. I had stitches and had to go back one week later to have them removed. Completely bruise free after 10 days and swelling was unnoticeable (unless you knew) after about 2 weeks.

The nurse who removed my stitches joked that she’d drawn the short straw. When I asked what she meant she said my surgeons stitches are known to be so tiny and precise they’re not particularly easy to remove, compared to some of the other surgeons.

I had mine done in Ormskirk by Mark Boyle, he’s a maxillofacial surgeon.

Best money I spent that year.

Catloverlady · 13/03/2026 12:51

I had one last year. I went to perfect eyes on Harley street. Such an amazing experience and not a scar in sight. Highly recommend Dr Sabrina is a genius surgeon.

For my consultation yes. He did the surgery on Ormskirk Hospital.

TofuTuesday · 14/03/2026 12:29

I had one done (£4.5!) in the south east. I don’t like the results, I don’t feel like the results are worth the money and there’s an annoying vertical crease now at the edge of my eyes so eyeliner still doesn’t work for a different reason. I wish I’d had a brow plexy but my surgeon didn’t mention them, just horror stories of brow lifts he wouldn’t recommend. The face book group is full of people advocating for Signature btw - look at the reviews is all I’m saying.

HippityHoppityHay · 14/03/2026 14:43

I'd only consider blepharoplasty if my eyelids were negatively impacting my vision.

I'd opt for a forehead lift a la Hilary Clinton - much more natural looking than Kenny Rogers, Robert Redford, Jim Carrey or Bradley Cooper.

People who get blepharoplasty always look weird in my view.

I’ve looked at Signature in the past and there were lots of negative comments.

It really depends. Your examples are all male - and they have a heavier faces, eyebrows, etc. So upper bleph affects them differently. It did alter their appearance in a strange way.

It also depends on how the rest of your face is - e.g. - if you have been using botox and your forehead has not dropped much.

For e.g. - I had mine around 50. I am not at all at a place of needing a face lift. My wrinkles are kept in check with botox, some fillers, PRP and Sculptra. Face lift at this time would be completely unnecessary and very invasive. And I have fairly light features and thin skin on my eyelids.

So - my eyelids dropped a bit. Such that I could not do a line on my top lid and have it visible. It looked like I had asian eyelids in a way, and they came along when I turned 50.

I did not like it. I wanted to have a little taken off, to get my eyes look like they used to a few years ago, not get some whole new shape to my eyelids.
My doctor did a very good job - he took a little strip of skin off and a few weeks after my operation (and still now) - I just looked refreshed and brighter.
Not like a completely different person with a new face - like after a facelift.

So - all to their own. I might never go for a total face lift. It's a completely different effort, risk and cost.

I had mine done at coppergate. They were fantastic! I had the consultation on line, they know exactly what they are looking at so it doesn’t need to be in person as they have so much expertise. You can remove the stitches yourself after with their guidance. Or you ac go back to the clinic. I was a bit worried but i did it myself as it saved me another 3 hour round journey and it was so simple, quick and easy. I would recommend them a million times over.

No vertical lines here . In fact none from surgery at all and just a very feint white line in the natural crease of my eyelid that you’d never notice

That’s a mad comment imo.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 14/03/2026 23:12

I'd deffo consider it but the only thing that puts me off is my mum did have this and she ended up with an infection that was pretty scary as she could have lost her sight!
So yeh, lots to think about.

PersephoneParlormaid · 15/03/2026 07:14

I can’t wear eye liner on my upper lid any more as it smudges, and I think I’ll look refreshed if I have it done.

Good for you I guess? I’m just sharing my experience, a year on.

blankcanvas3 · 15/03/2026 10:04

I had mine done earlier this year. I’m thrilled with the results and I love it. It looks really natural and I don’t have vertical lines. I had mine done at Coppergate too and they were great, highly recommend. I still look like me, just less tired. I’m 34 but I’ve always hated my hooded eyes.

fairmaidofutopia · 15/03/2026 10:52

I had mine about 8 years ago now. Cost £2k in London. Very good result . Was more painful than I expected for a few days but I’m very pleased I had it done

I just wanted the OP to know that this surgery doesn’t always result in vertical lines and obvious scars. 😬

I actually agree with that comment. It radically changes people’s faces

Can I ask was it just upper or both? Was it very expensive?

They can do but not always. I know a few people who've had them done for medical reasons and the changes are so subtle you wouldn't know unless they told you. Which, I think, is the optimum solution.

I think they look noticeable when people are trying to change their natural eye shape and ask for too much skin to be removed. Then they get the round, staring eyes look.

Sashya · 15/03/2026 15:16

Poparts · 15/03/2026 12:25

None of my close friends noticed I had something done until I told them. I did it around holidays - so was all healed by the time people were back.

I made a before/after close up of my eye to show them - and you can clearly see the difference. But on a day to day basis - people don't look at us as closely as we do ourselves. My lids bothered me, and I did it for myself.

But as I said - my doctor had my pic from about 10years ago and took only a bit of skin off. I didn't even have stitches - wound was cauterised and closed naturally. He also did not create an eyes-wide open look that is unnatural for most people, and leads to dry eyes, etc. He just reversed the time a bit.
