Looking to buy good quality flip flops that comfortable and do not break easily

Hi all,

I am looking for some good quality flip-flops to wear around the house and for occasional walks outside. I normally buy cheap flip flops but the straps always end up breaking, hence why I want to invest in some best quality ones.

I don't mind wearing mens flip flops if they are prone to lasting longer, but comfort is very important to me.

Thank you

Crocs flip flops are very hard wearing.

I came on to say this.

minnowonthesay · 12/03/2026 20:33

I like Archie’s too

Starhaf · 12/03/2026 20:39

another Archie’s fan here. I have 2 pairs one for indoors and another for outside. I live in them

Croc flip flops are really comfortable and last for ages. My last pair were 14 years old when they broke and I couldn't bear to be without them so bought a very similar pair within minutes. I live in them in the summer: inside and out. They're not glam and I always take other, nicer sandals on holiday as well as the crocs but I'd never be without them.
I have these ones. Might get a black pair too as they are so, so good.

Crocband™ Flip

Sporty and lightweight, the Crocs Crocband Flip is a colourful flip flop that's easy to clean. Ready for the beach, garden... or anywhere!

these from Decathlon. I have a pair this style which I bought years ago as a cheap stopgap. Still going strong and I wear them all the time as they’re so comfy.

Archies!

Thank you very much for all your replies!

I have just purchased some Archies and they will be arriving in the next few days. Hopefully I like them and they do the job! They were heavily recommended in this thread so they must be good.

I bought the Archies as they were the flip-flops that were most recommended on here.

I received them 2 days ago and I have been wearing them a lot and I must say I am not impressed so far. I know the website says it may take some time to break into them, but I find the straps stiff to the point it digs into my feet. I have had cheap £3 flip-flops that felt comfortable straight away..

I wonder if I should have gone a size up? I will give it a couple more days but I will be returning them if they don't start to feel more comfortable.

Have you stretched the toe post? Have a read, they recommend stretching the toe post until they are the preferred fit x

Animal swish in jazzy colours, or crocs as above. Both really comfortable.
You really shouldn't need to "wear in" flip flops.

minnowonthesay · 15/03/2026 18:29

They are made with a tight fit, you need to wear them for a couple of weeks to get them moulded to your foot

DHchangingjobs · 15/03/2026 18:34

Love my fit flops ending up buying a few colours last year. They lasted me around 4 years of wearing them daily, all day through out 4 summers

Squirrelchops1 · 15/03/2026 18:44

I wear Archies slides...amazing
Around the house i wear Oofos as recognised by podiatrist when I had plantar fasciitis

CrushingOnRubies · 15/03/2026 19:59

I really like the flip flops Animal does and they last ages

Late to the party but Archies for me too! They definitely felt weird when I first got them. They felt tight and the high arch almost felt like it was bruising me - a very strange feeling. I was going to send them back.

But after wearing them for a week or so, suddenly they became the most comfortable things ever! The arch is now super comfortable and they are the only flip flops that feel snug and actually stay on my feet, so I can walk normally. I have several pairs now (just because I love the colours!) and I lived in them last summer - I can’t wait to get them out again this year.

I used to wear Havaianas but they were never actually that comfy - I actually found the cheap Primark ones better! But I got rid of all of them once I discovered Archies.
