Modest/chic registry wedding outfit!

Hi I'm looking for a registry wedding outfit, I say outfit because it doesnt have to be a dress. But I'm really struggling because I'd like it to be quite modest, not really showing much skin/cleavage (not that I'm saying there is anything wrong with those things!!) Its just my personal style and what I prefer :) any ideas for anytbing chic?

@EleanorMc67 The op is registry office. It’s unfortunate about the back of the dress. I forget which one I looked at but many at any size of wedding get a close view of the dress. DD has chosen hers and we decided the back mattered.

I was merely admiring some of the dresses on the Jane Bourvis link - all which I'd consider the kind of dress for a full church/abbey/cathedral wedding!

I wasn't suggesting them for the OP. She wants: a chic bridal look; white/cream; modest/un-revealing of cleavage or too much skin - & likes Zimmerman/Rixo type dresses.

I'd hope that the rear of any outfit is always considered! Not just in a wedding dress - though it becomes even more important. The Rixo Clementine dress that the OP really likes (I do too) has a late 30s/early 40s vintage look, in silk jacquard. The rear view of a line of little silk-covered buttons & short train, is simple & elegant & lovely.

'quite modest, not really showing much skin/cleavage' what do you mean by modest, because it is quite relative. I found Western modest not enough for Asian wedding modest. In the end I bought a dress from Phase Eight which was full arms and full length and high neck, but sheer arms.

Lovely too if the OP wants to go with a structured, minimal embellishment look. As she's more pear-shaped, this one might be better than the first?

@Applecrumble0110 You said you've splashed out on Zimmerman before. Is that your budget this time? (Just looked & they range from £600-ish to nearly £3000 for the more bridal-looking dresses, depending on if they're on The Outnet or in the sale).

Presume you like quite vintage styles if you love the Rixo Clementine one. But you also said you loved the Self Portrait one & the floral Hobbs one. They're all very different styles!!!

What's your instinctive preference from the three you've reacted to so far ...??!

This Zimmerman one is pretty & very well-reduced - it's slightly loose in cut so a 12 should be fine. But I'd ditch the annoying half slip & add a full-length one (maybe in deep rose silk or another colour so that the lace pattern is readable all over).

Lovely dress with yet another shit slip. Why do they do this? The crochet/broderie anglaise/lace patterns disappear against white, & the short hem cuts across the line of the longer length dress & spoils its elegance. I'd wear something like the Skims, one in a size up, beneath it.

It's certainly striking & "modest" in terms of coverage - but I think anyone beyond a B cup may look very bosomy in it with all those gathers!!

At least the zip is a covered one on this dress, @OhDear111 !!! But it is very plain from the rear.

I do like this VB one if you're open to short sleeves, @Applecrumble0110 - though by modest do you also mean not overly clingy/form-fitting? I wasn't sure, as the first Rixo one you loved is a bias-cut slinky one. There are other similar VB ones without the flower.

Similar to the Monique L'Huillier one - in cost too ... They both come in knee-length versions - cheaper but I think too sensible-looking.
