Just used the dog shampoo in desperation for it to feel clean. It’s so horrible. Limp and falling out in handfuls yet greasy after half a day. Hit me up with good shampoo. Have tried
the cheap tea tree one
Cornish seaweed
elive red new one (old one was good now can’t find )
herbal essences normal hair
tresemme cleansing one for a deep clean

left to try :
Vosene
Swarfega

help !!

Also an honorable mention to Body Shop Ginger shampoo if you're feeling flush.

I have similar hair to you and use head and shoulders Pure - the sulphate and silicone free one. And then any old conditioner!

I have the same OP. Best options for me seem to be vosene and the apple cider vinegar OGX one.

going to try a DIY apple cider vinegar spray as indicated by a PP above.

im sure clarifying shampoos used to be much more available than they are now. Everything seems to be focused on hydration now which is a shame for us greaseballs!! It’s the same with skincare 😔

Whatever shampoo I use, I tend to have to give mine a wash with Fairy Washing Up liquid every 6-8 weeks to get rid of any residue buildup. Works a treat. I can only use conditioner about once a fortnight and even then it sometimes looks greasy.
NB I did not have this issue until my 50s so it’s definitely a menopause thing, relieved that at least some other ladies have the same problem as it’s meant to go drier not greasier.

Are you washing properly? Massage motions with finger tips, don’t scrub. You need to really break up the oils. Seperate the hair, make sure you shampoo the back of your head. Wash twice and rinse thoroughly. Squeeze excess waiter before conditioning mid length and ends, if your hair’s not slippy with conditioner you’re not using enough.

I really rate Vosene shampoo. It contains salicylic acid which, as a lipid soluble BHA, helps cut through scalp oils and exfoliates and loosens dead skin cells. I always use Vosene as a first wash then any other shampoo as a second wash. Also never leave your hair to air dry, always blow dry. I have also just started using Tigi Bed Head Small Talk Volumising cream and as this dries my hair up a little, I have been able to go from washing my hair every day to almost three days.

Lots to try here thanks and yes to blow drying. It seems better if I thoroughly dry it
