Elemis cleansing balm alternative

I fell in love with this cleanser but unfortunately not the price tag and I’ve nearly finished my current one. Is it really worth the money or am I missing out on a good dupe?

I have a cheaper cleansing balm but it just doesn’t bring me the same joy when I use it. Maybe it’s the fragrance doesn’t feel as luxurious a product.

Or I saw the Elemis cleansing butter is slightly better priced. Is this worth a try?

I like the Beaury Pie one. Stopped buying Elemis when they sold out and started teasing on animals again.

Notoironing · 15/02/2026 23:14

Look up Made for life organics cleansing balm. I love it and you can get a 10ml tin to try.

otherwise probably still too expensive but the Eve lom one is great.

Maybeitllneverhappen · 15/02/2026 23:21

Super drug have melting cleansing balms for £5, including a rosehip one. The Times beauty editor said it was a dupe for Elemis when she reviewed it a while ago.

Saw someone on TV raving about this Weleda
Weleda Skin Food Nourishing Cleansing Balm

I have not used it but they were so enthusiastic I added it to my list.

I really like one of the Aldi ones but I rarely see it in store any more.

Talisin · 16/02/2026 00:17

Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter and Elf Holy Hydration makeup melting cleansing balm both work well and feel lovely while using but they don’t have the lovely high end cleanser smell. Emma Hardie moringa cleansing balm is my HG product but that’s only slightly less expensive than the Elemis, sadly.

Garnier (normally a brand I hate) have a really good vitamin c one I’m enjoying using OP.

Rottedtheanemones · 16/02/2026 00:46

I like the body shop one.

NorvelleRogers · 16/02/2026 00:54

Byoma cleansing balm

I love the Aldi dupe as well it’s great! I’ve used Elemis before too and find the Aldi one great!

GrimDamnFanjo · 16/02/2026 00:59

I really like the KBeauty alternatives, Banilla, Heimlish, very good value if you buy from Stylevana or similar.

ramonaquimby · 16/02/2026 02:13

Kiko cleansing balm is best 2nd to Elemis. Didn't like the Body Shop or Super drug dupe

NailsHairNipsHeels · 16/02/2026 02:18

i can’t recommend any alternatives but If you know anyone flying jet2 they usually have good deals on it in their duty free.

LucyLoo1972 · 16/02/2026 02:21

its a small woman led business which has amazing skin cleanser balm - its called Pomaja

best stuff I have ever used ever

InfoSecInTheCity · 16/02/2026 05:33

Superdrug collagen cleansing balm is good and less than £5 last time I bought it

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 16/02/2026 06:32

Body shop one is good, but I do love the Elemis too.
i tend to alternate between a cheap one and the good stuff

Whettlettuce · 16/02/2026 06:37

The aldi one is quite a good alternative when you can find it. I use the emma hardie which is £££££ unfortunately. But there is nothing that compares. You can get the massive tub on offer for about 50 pounds but you need so little of it it lasts well over a year. So cost per use is doable. Maybe get the elemis one and see how little you actually need to use in order to remove makeup. I think sometimes we can be too heavy handed with things like that and we need much less than we use

PersephoneParlormaid · 16/02/2026 06:42

I like the Liz Earle one, but not sure on price difference.

NameChangeSOS · 16/02/2026 06:43

I use either the Elemis one or the Espa version. If you search cleansing balms at Look Fantastic there are loads, often on offer and you get loyalty points which soon add up.

This looks like good value, bigger pot and on offer. Might try it why do I always end up buying something!

The body shop camomile cleansing butter is AMAZING!

ThreeB · 16/02/2026 06:47

@Wallaroo21 if you have a next account, they have some Elemis gift sets in their clearance section which all include a cleansing balm. I managed to pick up a couple that were less (for a gift set) than a pot of cleansing balm by itself

Phonicshaskilledmeoff · 16/02/2026 06:50

I’ve got the last few of mine off vinted. Not had a problem- they aren’t used and if they are knock off, I’m impressed!

They often come in gift boxes and I think some people don’t like them

The body shop camomile cleansing butter is AMAZING!

It’s good, but I don’t think it’s anywhere close to as good as Elemis

Sweetiedarling7 · 16/02/2026 07:22

The cerave one is excellent. Combination of this followed by their foaming cleanser has improved my skin enormously.

Buggabootwo · 16/02/2026 07:36

I use the Emma Hardie one and prefer it to Elemis. Not sure that is solves the price problem as i buy it in M&S or Space NK!
