New thread because we can't stop chit-chatting and failing our low buy resolutions.

Everyone welcome to join in, new and old alike. This thread is a bad influence zone though so be warned all who enter! 😂

Anyone know either a product
-that smooths and plumps like Sisley Black Rose Mask or

-smooths and/or plumps wrinkles above the top lip (without getting filler)?
That isn't a "stinging tingling lip filler in a bottle", I don't want to inflame or aggregate the area this way.

I know it's very specific, but the only thing that works that I've tried is that Sisley mask. I'm saving the last of it just for this area but wondered if there's something a little less pricey?

I've tried day and night creams by Lancome, Clinique, clarins, medik8.

If anyone knows it will be one of you lovely ladies!

I would say the Sisley Velvet Flowers mask as that's my plumping go to but that's not helpful. 😁

If you're looking for something that might work and is cheapish I've seen lots of ads for this which claim good results. I've not tried it though so take all claims with a pinch of salt.

Thank you! Yes I also have a sample size Sisley Velvet Flowers (LBD) and love it.

I'm going to give your rec a go. I'm off work atm due to illness so If I have no luck with it I'm just going to plump (pun intended 🙄) for Sisley but wanted to see if there was something I'm missing under £100 until I'm working again!

Btw link isn't working but I've searched for it anyway so no probs.

You'll have to report back if the L'oreal is any good.

I get the Sisley mask from allbeauty when they do extra code discounts. I think last time I bought it for around £62 which is still expensive but a good discount on the RRP.

@Noshadelamp There is almost always a Sisley sample in most beauty boxes. Inevitably they turn up on Vinted

JoRaRaRa · 09/02/2026 14:49

I've bought this palette from Sephora https://www.sephora.co.uk/p/sephora-collection-9-eyeshadow The colours seem similar to those in LE Betty and I'm hoping it stops me wanting to buy it 🤞 I had a £5 voucher so for £5 it's worth a try 😊

Update - Shitty Debenhams have downgraded my valentine beauty ox, supposedly free next day delivery to super saver 7 days with NO reason! After forcing me to pay £1.50 extra for 'worry free delivery'. If this comes and is intact with no damage/missing items then it is the very last time I am buying from this sorry excuse of a company!

Some of you like the Laneige water bank cream IIRC.

50ml + 50ml refill at 40% off plus extra 5% off with code TAKE5

Thank you for this - I've just bought it using £5 of points and it's showing as £5 cashback (if it goes through). Great deal!

That's really shitty.

Touch wood I've got lucky and never had an issue with any of my orders so far (maybe 5/6 orders) but am aware from here and people I know IRL how bad they can be.

I should really stop whilst I'm ahead.

HN is the other one with atrocious customer service, but there is a store near work i can get to easily so anything higher value i get sent to store for pick up some they can't dispute lost delivery.

On the other hand escentual has the best ever customer service as those on the perfumista thread may be aware after my parfum de Marly set was tampered with/ stolen by a DHL worker.

keepincool · 09/02/2026 17:07

I picked up my Next mystery box today - which has the rituals scrub, PK product, mini Lancôme serum and the eye stick - exactly as the YouTube unboxing showed. I opened it in store and returned it immediately (I have 3 of the 4 products). It was so easy to return it at the scan & drop point - so £18 saved 😊

IlovePond · 09/02/2026 17:46

Thanks @keepincool

They did exactly the same to me on an order last Tuesday. I’m still waiting for it. Did not appreciate the additional charge added on either. Won’t shop with them again.

I’ve just found out that EL DoubleWear has been reformulated due to some of its ingredients being banned in the EU.

Unfortunately, I have two unopened bottles in my stash.

From what I have read it’s not that the ingredients are dangerous, but they don’t absorb well in water so are bad for the environment. Assuming this is correct, do I use this stuff up or dump?

Now, I am on board with helping the environment, but don’t want to throw away two new bottles.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

IlovePond · 09/02/2026 18:23

@keepincool - I have just had the DHL email - Friday apparently!

If you want to use it, then do and when it’s all gone, put the glass bottle in a recycled plastic bag and seal it, then put it in the recycling bin.

If you don’t, then put it in a sealed recycled plastic bag and then the recycling bin. They can clean and recycle the glass bottle.

The pump part, can’t be recycled so bin that in a recycled bag in your normal household waste.

You can’t really wash it out, even with hot water and washing up liquid, due to silicon getting into the water.

How annoying though, especially if you really love it.

IlovePond · 09/02/2026 19:07

Thanks @Sminty2 - if it’s not dangerous, I suppose I might as well use the two bottles up, but it’s a bit grim - knowing I would be using stuff that’s banned.

I am using up some Clinique atm, but I was going straight onto the DW once that was finished.

It is/was my favourite foundation, so I am a bit annoyed- plus I only bought another bottle of it a couple of months ago as it was a good price.

IlovePond · 09/02/2026 19:08

Tbf, I had noticed it was pretty hard to shift with water…

I would use it up too, especially as it’s a favourite and the bottle has to be recycled anyway, full or empty.

Just use a really good cleanser 😊

As long as it’s sealed properly when you put it in the recycling bin, you’re covered.

IlovePond · 09/02/2026 19:15

Thanks @Sminty2

I’ve just seen the new Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm set on Instagram 🙃 It will be mine when it’s released on the 11th!

Mine's the same, I'll be returning it tomorrow as it's just not worth it for me

I did get the mother and baby edit in the same order for a girl at work who is going on maternity leave though, that's a lovely gift imo 😊

Has anyone got a discount code for Face the Future, my skin is loving the Decree so am tempted to pick up a few
more mystery boxes.
