New thread because we can't stop chit-chatting and failing our low buy resolutions.

Everyone welcome to join in, new and old alike. This thread is a bad influence zone though so be warned all who enter! 😂

First spoilers for Glossybox egg. Not interested so far thank goodness.

This would be really good and I'd be so tempted if I'd not already received some of the Medik8 retinol serum in the CB edit and the Harrods calendar. I need to not be tempted though. sits on hands

I’m an all year round sparkle person - so cheering. the zoeva shader brush got a great write up by times beauty writer….

BlueLimes · 18/02/2026 17:01

I’m still wearing my Lisa Eldridge glittery lip gkoss- love it. Glitter all year I say.

CorneliaStreet · 18/02/2026 17:38

I wear sparkly eyeshadow everyday, love a bit of sparkle.

Thelifeofawife · 18/02/2026 17:45

@Talisin Thats lovely! I hadn’t taken much notice of the Zoeva talk but now my interest has piqued 😁… off for a full website viewing 🤣

TragicMuse · 18/02/2026 17:52

I got a Byoma balm from SNK and the birthday freebie which is really nice - feels generous! And she chucked in a couple of free sachets of Erborian CC stuff.

I’ve marked the image as sensitive if you’re going for the Feb birthday gift and don’t want the preview.

The Jarrolds Mother’s Day is edit is sold out in store too!

Glad you mentioned that, I was hoping to go next week but I won't bother now. I wonder if they'll get any more or if thats it? It sold out extremely quickly.

TragicMuse · 18/02/2026 18:22

It went very fast! Even the sales assistant I spoke to was surprised!

JoRaRaRa · 18/02/2026 19:12

I'm still wearing my sparkly LE lip gloss too 😍 and sparkly eyeshadow. Life is too short to only wear sparkles at Christmas 💁🏻‍♀️✨

TragicMuse · 18/02/2026 20:05

My mum bought me YSL Rive Gauche as a birthday present (my request). I used to wear it over 40 years ago. It’s lovely but I had a completely different smell in my memory! How strange!

My sentiments exactly. I love my LE lipgloss, I wear sparkly stuff all the time 💖

Thelifeofawife · 18/02/2026 21:03

Thanks to the PP who mentioned the Escentual discount, I finally got the YSL nude lavalliere blush!

I haven’t used the site since my pre-Christmas haul of perfume & lipglosses and didn’t realise that I also had £5 credit on there. It did mean that the blush came to less than the minimum delivery spend of £30, so of course I added another Givenchy lip balm in different shade to the one I have already got 😁

I put some stuff in a basket earlier then removed it and walked away.

The CB edit was more than enough for one day. I'm not doing amazingly well at low buy but I am doing a bit better than last year. I think...

I've been wearing YSL Loveshine in 44 Nude Lavalliere all day. It's a lovely formula and colour but is one you need to reapply a few times.

I agree and a thank you!
Like you I ordered the Nude Lavalliere but I added a Roger & Gallett hand cream to take me over £30 spend - looking forward to try it and compare with the Gucci blush.

@OvaHereDid you see the new Sonia G brushes launched today - I know they are special but over £400 for one brush is pure madness.

OvaHere · 18/02/2026 21:17

@MrsBnow12 I did see a Beautylish email about it I think. That's a crazy price.

I still really want a Sonia G brush but I'm trying to wait it out and try my luck again with the next Beautylish box in December. I'm not starved of nice make up brushes so a bit of patience will probably do me good.

If I don't get one next year I can't promise I won't cave in a fit of pique and buy a set. 😂

I’ve always thought that the bottle was so elegant. It just had ‘the look’.

Our skin chemistry definitely alters as we age, I can’t wear No 5 anymore and I loved it 30 years ago. Now it smells like my grandmother’s bathroom.

My Mum used to wear Rive Gauche when I was a child. I sometimes think I should get one for the memory of her but to be totally honest I didn't really like it back then.

I think I’ve gone off the rails today. I never even considered I needed yet another blush until @Thelifeofawife mentioned buying the nude lavalliere from Escentual and it has come up a few times on here. So of course I had to google it and it looks gorgeous and then checked Escentual and there was one left so of course I had a giddy rush and bought it. I hope it suits me, it was the height of daft impulse buying….

I have a tiny but empty bottle of Guerlain’s Mitsouko, which belonged to a dear friend. I think of her every time I see it.

Oh my. That YLS Loveshine is gorgeous.

JoRaRaRa · 18/02/2026 21:46

@LoveLabradors it was clearly meant to be 😍

I love the nude lavalleire blush, I wore it again today, I don't think it's as dark as the photos make it seem. Definitely seems lighter on my skin anyway. It went really nice with the blue eyeshadow. Well, I thought it did anyway 💙

I got a bit excited then and ran to escentual for the ysl blush in fuchsia fizz, unfortunately they don't stock it 💔

Fillybuster · 18/02/2026 21:53

Still catching up on the thread, so apologies in advance if I’ve missed this from someone else, but didn’t want to forget to reply to @TragicMuse re eye make up removal. Having never quite outgrown my goth/rock chick/ raver roots I take a generous / heavy handed approach to liquid eyeliner and waterproof mascara (both black, natch). Much as I love a good balm or cleanser, I’ve yet to find one that doesn’t leave me looking like a panda in the morning, and I’m not a huge fan of black smudges on the pillows either! In my experience, Clarins instant eye make up remover (not the gentle one!) is the one to beat: least likely to leave you with sore eyes or panda rings!

Doglover73 · 18/02/2026 21:57

I m going to look at escentual but I bought lipblams in sale, givenchy. They are a lovely texture but I always think of nude as brown and most are pink it seems. Must check better instead of rushing in case I miss out. 🤔😍
My lips are already quite dark and pink so 😊
