New thread because we can't stop chit-chatting and failing our low buy resolutions.

Everyone welcome to join in, new and old alike. This thread is a bad influence zone though so be warned all who enter! 😂

Well to be fair to John Lewis, once I eventually got through to customer services live chat (tried the phone as requested and lost the will to live!) they arranged next day delivery for a replacement so I have my cracker and Kate Somerville sets.

Next up for shopping is a serum as I'm nearly out, but as they're quite pricey I'm hoping there's a decent GWP coming up soon as that would put a good chunk towards a minimum spend. I'll feel cheated if I have to buy one without a freebie!

Is there a code ? I can’t see the discount on the website - thanks.

Thank you - tempted by the icons edit.

Due to VBB refunding me for my lost eye palette I have repurposed the funds and bought the Icons edit.
I was very tempted when it came out but resisted, this time my resolve isn’t as strong.

I'm being good. I'd like the Amouage but most of the other stuff I don't especially want and I just don't want the faff of selling it on right now. If it dropped another £10-20 I might cave.

I finished the crazy price Valmont cream from Harrods AC. My final review is in the Empties thread.

I'm the same, I'd really like the perfume but I really don't need to add to my skincare stash. I've got my box of what I'm currently using, then everything split into drawers, then a big box of backups that go into the drawers when I take something out then the advent calendars under the bed 😳🤣 Plus the random stuff I keep finding around the house. I also have just left my other harrods purchases on the dining table for now. I swear my skincare stash is actually breeding 🤭 I could be tempted with another £10 off though 💁🏻‍♀️

I started on this as a morning moisturiser, but I've switched to the la mer and put valmont away for now. I think it's nice under makeup and it does make my skin glowy, but you're right, it's not hydrating enough for winter. I've bought another of the shiseido creams on vinted so I'm hoping that one is nice 🤣

I've since opened Dieux Instant Angel which is very popular in the US for dry skin. I'm impressed with it so far.

Downside is you can't buy it here so possibly a one time experiment as with shipping and taxes it was expensive to buy and took a while to arrive.

Does it feel heavy? Have you noticed your skin feeling more hydrated?

My plan is to use all the moisturisers from the Harrods ac. So currently la mer, then back to valmont, then the Lancaster one. Depending on when I finish these 3, I might move onto shiseido or leave that until October time to use and move onto the Paula's Choice from the SpaceNk. I also have the Charlotte tilbury one from the recent CB edit and a large dior one but when I've looked these up, it doesn't sound like they actually do much apart from provide a nice glow 😕 so I think those 2 will be best left until summer.

No it's surprisingly lightweight. It's similar to the Naturium Peptide cream I really like but a bit richer so better for night use.

I had planned to use the Lancaster one next but figured I should use it at the same time as the serum. As soon as my current serum is out I'm going to break from the Dieux and use those as they're only small.

I noticed the Shiseido one has SPF so clearly it's meant to be a day cream. I'll hang on a few weeks for a sign of sunshine. 😄

I think originally they were going to put the shiseido night cream in. They did an article on how best to use the products from the AC and the shiseido was the night cream version. Also, if you press the link on the BD site, it still takes you to the night cream version. Anyway, I digress with my little theory 🤣

I might take the Lancaster serum and moisturiser on holiday with me. I got the Lancaster body milk with spf in in my harrods hair and body calendar and I'm going to take that away with me so I could just go all out with the Lancaster products 🤣 I finished opening that calendar yesterday, it was £90 at the hbeauty event and to be honest, there's cheaper edits out there that are better. Although, I wanted it for the champo serum, oribe shampoo and conditioner and the color wow volume spray, if I'd bought them individually, I don't think it would cost much less than £90 so thinking of it like that, it was probably OK 🤔 There's just a lot in there that I'm not bothered about anymore.

How are you finding the La Mer? I am
looking forward to giving it a try to see if it lives up to the hype.

IlovePond · 14/02/2026 22:41

I’m liking the B12 cream I got in the Liberty a/c. I use it once or twice a week at night. Ditto the Nocturne cream. However, at £60/65 each for a small tube, I will not be replacing them!

trying29 · 15/02/2026 09:00

worth checking out vinted - I got a new B12 cream for £2 last week!

IlovePond · 15/02/2026 09:32

Wow @trying29 - that’s fantastic.

I'm liking it so far. I've had it before and popped it in my holiday bag so I only used it when travelling so I didn't fully appreciate it. I actually read up about it and how it really helps the skin in winter, although I'm not sure I could ever justify paying full price for it.

I've had to stop using the la prairie foam cleanser, it was drying out my face. I'll revisit it in summer. I also didn't like the Laura mercier mascara, I felt I had to go over my lashes a lot to get any product on them 😮‍💨 I love the Christophe Robin hair mask though and have bought a big tub of it 😍

What have been your loves / hates so far?

Oh I might open the La Mer moisturiser next if it’s good for winter skin.

I have been using the Champ eye lash serum but haven’t noticed it actually doing anything. I gave the brow serum to my mum as my brows don’t need any help growing!
I like the Sisley toner and I have used the eye shadow stick quite a bit. Gave the Laura Mercier mascara to my mum as I have a few mascaras to get through.
I haven’t tried any of the moisturisers yet as am ploughing through a full sized Estée Lauder one.

pinkchampagne1 · 15/02/2026 09:57

Oh and I have tried the blush drops a few times but don’t think they add much colour to my cheeks

worth checking out vinted - I got a new B12 cream for £2 last week!

I never find these bargains 🤣🤣🥰

Doglover73 · 15/02/2026 10:15

I have a mini la mer. Im using the edik 8 night atm but will find the la mer and try it. I used the decree from ftf mystery bag last night and my skins lovely and soft this morning. I got the ch kit x2 and 2 of the ftf mystery boxes. Do I need more?
If the 10% off had worked id have definitely got one. 🤣
Ive tried the sisley but in mini form from a gwp sometime. Ok but my face goes a little red. My skin diesnt seem to like rose but I still keep trying rose stuff just in case. I dont rate sisley at all. I sold 3 moisturisers/masks on vinted for not a lot. £8/9 if I recall. Cheap but no point keeping in a drawer to go off. 🥰
Im also using an eyelash serum but do tend to get them in my eyes. 🫣

My brows used to be like that @pinkchampagne1 then one day they just stopped growing back. 😳 Peri!!!
I did go recently for a consultation for tattooing. My hairdresser had them done and they look lovely and natural. I may do in the future. It put me off as you cant use and actives for 12 weeks through the process. And I have all my stuff to use. 🤣

My friend gave me her Sisley Toner (she had the Liberty advent) as she thought it reacted badly with her skin. Fortunately it hasn’t caused me any irritation.

I am looking forward to trying the Decree serum. I bought a second one from Vinted after hearing how much JoRaRaRa loved it. Good to hear you are enjoying it too. 😊
I am using the Decree cleanser from last year’s Harrods at the moment.

I am also peri menopausal but no sign of my eyebrows calming down just yet. I wish they would!

TragicMuse · 15/02/2026 10:41

My eyebrows feel sparse compared to what they were. Not sure if the growth encouragements work or not but I keep trying!

@Doglover73 my skin doesn’t like rose at all - I had a facial years ago and certain things itched, in the end the beautician narrowed it down to rose, vitamin E and brightening products. I’m good with lavender, Shea butter and jojoba.

But the Sisley water isn’t reacting at all on me so either it’s just more gentle or my face has changed!

I still steer clear of Vit E though. That is still world of itch!
