New thread because we can't stop chit-chatting and failing our low buy resolutions.

Everyone welcome to join in, new and old alike. This thread is a bad influence zone though so be warned all who enter! 😂

Which colours did you get @OvaHere? Really pleased you like them, I’ve got quite a few. I like the couple of VBB ones I have and love the smudger on the end but I think the Zoeva ones edge it. I’m eying up the new rose champagne but I really do not need it! Is the free lipstick a good pink nude then?

There was a choice of two shades (can't remember other one - a bit more nude), I chose Serenad in matte then bought the matching liner. I've only swatched on hand so far. The case feels very high quality.

Eyeliners were Metallic Khaki, Metallic Aubergine and Perfect Bordeux. I tried out the Khaki one.

LoveLabradors · 13/02/2026 16:45

I have the khaki one, it’s gorgeous. Also have perfect green, metallic sapphire, emerald, azure blue, and smoky grey. I’ve not tried any lip products but it is tempting now with your review!

Franklin101 · 13/02/2026 17:55

Lurker and influenced, just popping on to say thanks for the heads up on the style korean boxes! I bought them both and absolutely over the moon with the contents, seems really high quality stuff! Hair is really soft after using the rosemary shampoo sample so may need to get some!

Thanks for the info @Willow742

Channelling @JoRaRaRa I threw away an ancient Clinique concealer and a crumbled to bits with a broken lid Ciate blusher. Tbf, I was still using the blusher, but it being in bits - literally - was driving me mad.

I also threw away an old M&S perfume double roller stick that was still quarter full but I just didn’t like it.

I need to be braver…

It’s a good start.

I got rid of a Rare Beauty blush, which I absolutely loved but someone (looking at you DH) knocked it off the cabinet and it broke into a gazillion pieces. I’d only used it half a dozen times or so and couldn’t bring myself to buy another. I couldn’t use it, but bizarrely kept struggling to throw it away. Anyway, finally chucked it a couple of days ago, along with it an Aldi dupe moisturiser that I didn’t take to and know I won’t use.

I’ve got masses of make up that I’ve used just a handful of times, if that. I do need a good sort out.

Oh My Cream has 20% off with LOVE20. Seems to include Augustinus Bader, VBB and Violette FR amongst others.

Thelifeofawife · 13/02/2026 19:37

Is there a code for Cult Beauty that works with other discounts? 🤭

Sometimes the influencer codes take an extra couple of quid off.

What are you trying to use?

Oh those zoeva eyeliners are gorgeous. Ahem, small late night check out slip up!

I had a disaster yesterday, rushing and dropped nearly an entire plot of chantecaille rose tint moisturiser all down a boot and across the floor. Awful!

Fillybuster · 13/02/2026 23:09

I’ve just realised that someone asked me up thread about why I didn’t love th Nars Laguna and I forgot to reply. I checked this morning: I have Laguna Sunset, and I challenged myself to use it properly today so I could provide a reliable report!

In short: it’s ok but I don’t love it enough to pack it even for an overnight trip, and so I’ll never use it instead of any of my other options. 1) it’s a bit too sparkly (not my usual complaint, but in this case, it’s just a bit much) 2) I really don’t like the pink, which is too dark for my taste, taking it down to 3 usable shades 3) I tend to use liquid liner, so the dark brown powder, although ok, is fairly irrelevant except for a bit of shading at the corner 4) which leaves the bronze, which is a bit intense for the whole lid, especially in daytime, and the cream/off white peach shade which is too pale, as well as too sparkly. So I guess overall, it’s just not quite my thing. That said, lovely texture, decent staying power, good depth of colour, so if the shades are right for you, then don’t let me put you off!

Edited to add: I’m probably being a bit of a brat. The bronze is actually lovely, as is the lighter colour. But I want/need more than two colours when doing my eyes, so I think the real issue is that I’m not really a minimalist/ 3 shades in a pallete person (the pink really is NOT for me!)

Oh no. That rose cream is lovely. Commiserations.

Congrats on the liners though.

Sorry @OvaHere, I don’t know where the evening has gone! They have 20% off skincare, it’s just whether there’s a code that will stack with it to knock off a bit more.
I tried the First15 just to see, but that only knocked off another 64p

IlovePond · 14/02/2026 02:24

@Thelifeofawife sometimes ANNIIECB takes a bit more off.

BlueLimes · 14/02/2026 06:33

@Thelifeofawife try Bday15

I also love the eyeliners and will order today- thank I’ll for linking @OvaHere @LoveLabradors excited to get a treat that’s not skincare. I’m getting the glittery mid brown and the midnight.
I am going to get another face the future set though - I really like the serum and the avant.

Has anyone used SR A+ serum? I might lost on vinted if it’s not great - I’ve so many, I don’t think I’ll get through. I’ve 2 Medik8’s I think I’d prefer to start.

@OvaHere - thank you for the Beauty of Joseon Ground Rice and Honey Glow Mask recommendation. I used it yesterday and have woken up with lovely soft and glowy skin - even after one too many wines! It's amazing 😊

I recalled that you mentioned it being a bit messy to apply, so with my FtF order I added a little brush to my basket. It works really well for applying the mask. I only used a very thin layer. If anyone else is interested, the mask is currently £12.40 at Cult Beauty.

I did have to fill in a safety questionnaire after purchasing the brush, due to the nature of Environ products - which was a bit bizarre, considering that I was only getting a brush, but it is good, and cheap at £4.00.

Yes I'm using SR A+ at the moment. I really like it. I might like it a teeny bit more than MediK8 which is unfortunate because I've collected a lot of MediK8 that needs using up.

That's a good idea. I'm sure I've got some sort of face spatula somewhere for this purpose, I've just got no idea where it is.

Glad you like the mask. It really does work.

In that case I’ll keep it - I’ll focus on using my small sizes up first.

i don’t really like the SR blue night oil. I might give up on it - it doesn’t appear to sink in .

I sold on all the SR oils I had without ever trying them. I don't really like facial oils but every so often I hang on to one I get in an edit telling myself I might try it. Then I don't. 😂

@keepincool @OvaHere . I am going to try the joseon rice mask tonight, hoping it works wonders for me too! The joseon calming serum and masks have been just brilliant, genuinely have transformed my sore irritated skin in just over a week. I am also loving the biossance rose oil from the CB edit too but don’t know if it is having the great effect or the joseon. I am also really pleased with the Rodial bee venom eye cream from the JL advent calendar as well. I have been a bit despairing of my skin so it’s so nice to feel better about it!
